    Piece of crap washer

From day one this machine has been acting up. It has been off-center every single load of laundry we do in no matter of the cycle makes so much noise. We have to babysit each load of laundry. We were told this is an open box in good condition, nobody said whether it had been used previous, whether it was returned or whether it had a malfunction we would have not bought it. If we would’ve known here we are two months later already replacing it we will be calling corporate since every single time we’ve called the phone number to put in a complaint about how it’s operating nobody seems to answer.

Have had this washer for almost 3 year. Really not happy. It only fills about a cup of water and i have to manually put water in the machine to wash clothes. I honestly believe it ha been doing this from the beginning. I just noticed it a short time ago. Also just pulled it out to put new flooring in and there are pieces of rubber under it. I think it falling apart. Dont purchase!

Sadly nothing is made to last - I decided to go with the old school top loader with basic functions hoping to have something that would actually wash laundry unlike other high efficiency washers but this one started having issues within a year and doesn’t use enough water on a rinse cycle so I’ve been having to do a second wash cycle without soap just to make sure things get clean of soap. It drains water before the wash cycle is complete so often times I’m having to do multiple wash cycles and is loud

    An idiot designed this

If you start a load but don't close the lid it will drain itself thinking you changed your mind. Why is the washer deciding this for me? I left the lid open on purpose so it would wait. You have to actually twist a knob to wake up the machine, pressing the buttons do not wake it up. So even if you want the exact same setting as your last cycle you have to move the knob back and forth. You can't change the water level or temp after you start it, unlike other washers with knobs you turn for those selections. You have to completely turn off the machine and start fresh. Like some other modern washers it takes multiple infuriatingly long pauses where nothing is happening. What's it doing? Solving math problems?

This is the worst washing machine I have ever had and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The fabric softener holder gets nasty and moldy. The belt went out in less than a year! Overall it's a loud and unreliable machine. Buyer beware!

Hello Bizzylizzy - Thank you for being a part of the GE Appliances family. We are disappointed to hear about your experience with this washer. Having the belt experience an issue is surprising and we hope you took advantage of the warranty. The fabric softener holder should be removed frequently for cleaning which can be done quickly and easily. Please let us know if you have any more questions. - John@GEAppliances GE_Appliances

    Total Junk

Had this for about 2 1/2 years and, despite taking very good care of the machine - babying it, keeping it clean, never overloading it - stopped filling and stopped agitating. I’d never buy another GE washer, ever.

    ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE DELIVERY EXPERIENCE

Delivery was an absolute nightmare, inconvenience, terrible experience. I opted to purchase from BB due to a vendor praising their warranty program. BB’s selection of US manufacturers appliances pales in comparison to HD & Lowe’s. I trusted my vendor’s advice & found 3 appliances to purchase from BB. I own rental properties & have purchased 10x more appliances than the average person. When I say the delivery scheduling experience was a nightmare, it’s not an exaggeration. I’m already looking to purchase several appliances for properties. I will not even look at BB, based on the multi-day 12 hour delivery window, with zero updates, communication or way for the customer to easily communicate or narrow down delivery windows. BB did an excellent job of leaving the worst taste in the customer’s mouth.

One more let down from One more manufacturer!

This product is far less than we would have come to expect from GE. Not only does the fill not work well, but the wash cycle often leaves soap and other normally used washing products in or on the clothing. Which says to me the rinse cycle also does not work well! Finally, this product didn’t even survive beyond the 3 year extended warranty purchased before major issues were present requiring expensive repairs and/or replacement. Deeply disappointing, GE! Our last washer was a very simple Amana that lasted 21 years and only required one simple, inexpensive service in all its years of service. It seems to me that with the years of knowledge we have today, GE could do far better than this to provide a washing machine that is worth the very expensive prices being charged for its products.

It lasted less than 3 years

I opted for this washing machine because I have relatives with 20 year old GE appliances that are still going strong. I didn’t see a need for the “bells and whistles” that come on other models. I would say my household averages less laundry than others, and it still didn’t last me three years. In the middle of a spin cycle, the drum came completely loose from the machine. I never would have associated washers with violence until I heard what sounded like a helicopter landing in my laudry room. The machine was shaking so much that it was banging against the wall. Even worse, the machine wouldn’t turn off when I attempted to end the cycle. I am hoping this is either covered under the GE warranty, or that its an easy/inexpensive fix. Either way, if you’re looking for a base model washer, this isnt the one.

Must open/close lid to get it to start sometimes

I don't know if it's a defect or what, but sometimes pushing the start button does nothing unless I open and close the lid. Same thing happened the first time the installer pressed the start button. He tried a different outlet, same thing. While I was looking through the fuse box to see if it tripped a breaker, he gets it started. I couldn't ask him what he did or if this was normal, because he didn't speak English. I'm a pretty tech savvy person, but it took me awhile to figure out that I have to open and close the lid to essentially "reset" the washer. I understand it will pause if you open the lid during operation, but this is after it has been completely shut off. Makes no sense.
