I would have preferred to save my money and bought something different. It always gives me problems and right now it doesn’t feel enough water.

The washer would not start from the first attempt. A Geek squad technician cane out within a week of the purchase and tested the machine and determined the lid latch was defective and the water filter was defective. It was exchanged for another that was the same.

The lid needs to be exactly in place for it to wash, otherwise it stops.

When I hooked this up it had water in it so that got me mad. Didn’t need the attachments since mine fit. The agitator was not attached when it was delivered. I attach the agitator per the instructions and not even a week later it broke. And when I say broke I mean the top part came off during the spin and broke into little pieces. If you still use the washer without the agitator where it was connected you need to constantly clean it. So disappointed with it.

The day it was delivered it didnt work. The delivery guys started the the cycle to show us how it worked it stopped working about 10 minutes after they left. I called to have it repaired and was told we wod have to wait two weeks before they could send someone out. That was a not acceptable, so they replaced the entire washer a week later instead.

Absolutely terrible design for a washing machine

Without a doubt, this is the worst washing machine that I’ve ever purchased. It has water saving technology so it does not operate like a normal machine. It is OK with lightweight clothing in small loads but anything more substantial causes the machine to go unbalanced. A load of towels may take 3 to 4 hours to wash as it can take multiple attempts to make this machine stay in balance and spend them dry. Forget it if you want to use fabric softener… Guarantee disaster with unbalanced issues. If I could give a zero star rating I would it is that horrible.

Hello, thank you for your review. We are sincerely sorry you have not been pleased with the operation and functionality of your new washer. The Department of Energy (DOE) sets standards for washer water usage. Over the years, the amount of allowable water usage has been reduced. With washers using less water and energy, you will no longer see a wash basket full of water. Most washers are now programmed with load sensing to adjust water levels based on the cycle and load size, so the amount of water used will vary. Rest assured, however, that your clothes are still being cleaned just as sufficiently as before despite the lower amount of water being used. Additionally, it is not recommended to manually add more water to the washer. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. We have passed your comments along to our washer design and development team for future improvement and consideration. -Chris@GEA GE_Appliances

I was very excited to use this washer, but it doesn't remove the stains from the clothes, the soap is not removed during the load and after being done, you notice detergent stains in your clothes. Very disappointed.

Rarely finishes a wash after 6 months.

The washer seemingly started off fine. Here lately after roughly 6 months of usage, Every time i put towels, or jeans, or any amount of laundry really the washer balls everything up to 1 side and then fails to continue its cycle. I've tried less clothes, more clothes, re-balancing items in the washer when it gets all balled to one side, it immediately does the same thing it did to put them all lop sided soon as i close the lid again. I honestly can't remember last time i haven't had to manually separate clothes and ring them out by hand. I guess you get what you pay for, and this isn't too good.

I beleive the only thing wrong is the agitator is not securely fastened to the other part. So it is hard to fill the washer up without that falling off.

This washer, despite its gigantic size, did not fill with enough water to properly wash the clothes I put in. The clothing rolled up into balls and each and every load went off balance unless it was a load of socks and underwear. Washing cotton items was hopeless. I returned it for a front-loading washer that is much smaller, yet still washes more clothes than this washer. I am happy now.

Hi there, thanks for the review. So sorry to hear about the issues you've had with your top load model. We did want to say that the Department of Energy (DOE) sets standards for washer water usage. Over the years, the amount of allowable water usage has been reduced. With washers using less water and energy, you will no longer see a wash basket full of water. Most washers are now programmed with load sensing to adjust water levels based on the cycle and load size, so the amount of water used will vary. - We do hope that your front load washer is a GE and that you're enjoying it. All the best. -Michael@GEA GE_Appliances

This washer is the worse investment ever. I have owned it for less than 2 years and it's no longer working. The softener dispenser doesn't work, it stained many of my clothing. I had to stop using it and when I called to get it fixed, the company said it was in good condition. Do not buy it.

Unfortunately this washer is terrible. Washes a load properly only half the time. Claims to be “smart” but puts incredible stress on the family when it refuses to wash. The many settings are useless as only a few will actually wash. I suggest finding another brand. After only 5 months I’m going to have to seek recourse or just throw it away and buy a different washer. It’s that bad.

Didn’t even last 2 months before door lock broke. Then you have to schedule a warranty call, then wait another 2 weeks for part to arrive, then call to schedule warranty call out again to fix. Tough to be without a washer this long with kids. Wouldn’t buy again.

Absoutely the worst! Do not purchase. Mine died at 7 months and I have been without a washer for over a month. I have had 3 service calls, all requiring a 4 hour skip work and stay home to wait appointment and the cost of parts exceeds the cost of the machine. I have to get a new transmission, a new agitator, a new internal water valve, a new gear case and a whole new control board.
