    In less than 2 weeks, washer would beep indiscriminately without any laundry in the bin and one time stopped during a middle of a cycle before completing spin. With time, beeping occurred so frequently, had to disconnect from outlet. Read multiple reviews on-line with this problem. Fortunately, Best Buy gave several options to ameliorate the situation, choosing to select a Maytag instead. Have yet to wash a load of laundry but, test cycle was ok.

    I know this type of machine uses less water (and it says so in the accompanying literature) but I always have to manually add more water at the low water level selection because the load is not sufficiently covered with water.

You are correct that this is a high efficiency washer and does not use as much water as older models may have. It is normal for the water level to not be higher than the clothes and will not have a negative impact on the wash performance.     Cothes seem to get very clean very quickly. It's also a rather quiet machine. The one useless part is the locking feature that has no value to me
