It always has a horrible smell no matter what I tried. And I tried EVERYTHING! I searched everywhere for a large capacity “old school washing machine” with an actual agitator. This is exactly what I wanted and it does an amazing job washing large loads. And best of all, it never smells.

I’ve tried high end washers without the agitator and front load washers and my clothes wouldn’t wash very well. This washer can’t hold as much of a load but will wash well and won’t take 2 hrs a load.

This last one may be the last GE washer I buy. It is fine for everyday laundry, clothes, towels, but for lightweight cotton blankets and sheets, it is HORRIBLE. As if it wasn't bad enough that the machine twists larger items into a never ending twisted mess, which must be unwound before placing in the dryer, the machine easily gets out of balance. It must be watched CLOSELY if there are sheets or blankets in the machine. I have never experienced this issue this badly in ANY of the washing machines I have owned in the last 50 years. What's up with this, GE??

I found this GE washer that had most everything I used on the old washer. It’s a good washer and glad I went with it.

Gives me an opportunity to rinse out the laundry soap and fabric softener cup. We are noticing a little bit of blue slippery residue at the bottom of machine when the load is done even if we add a second rinse cycle
