The only reason I give a 4* is for heavier loads there would be excessive vibration as it moves the machine. Using the rubber pads underneath the legs solved my problem.

It only took two visits to Best Buy to convince the salesperson to sell us the one we wanted. Since we have only had this unit for a few days/weeks, it is really hard to rate it. It does appear to wash clothes the way you might expect a washing machine to do.

I initially had to exchange this bc the "high pitch squealing" is the sound when washing,but we thought it was defective so Best Buy did send another. Good on their part. It doesnt wow me and some stains just don't budge. Lower end on price so ill deal with it. Hopefully it lasts some years.

We also want to share some tips on the clothes not cleaning well. To improve wash performance, use the correct amount and type of detergent, load carefully, and select the right amount of water and settings for your load size. Keep the lid closed during the wash cycle.
Step 1: Select the right amount and type of detergent. Follow the manufacturer’s recommended amount for your load. Pre-treat stains if needed. If your washer has an infusor or precise-fill setting, you should use HE (High Efficiency) detergent. HE detergent is a low sudsing detergent. Contrary to other applications, suds in a washing machine can reduce cleaning performance.
Step 2: Loosely load the clothing into the washer basket around of the outside of the basket. Pouring and/or compacting the load can lead to poor cleaning performance and increase wrinkling and tangling. Do not wrap items around the agitator or infusor as that can lead to increased wrinkling.
Step 3: Close the lid. Select the settings for your washer cycle. Several washers can select the correct amount of water. Clothing that floats in the water may not get the optimum turnover to clean properly. Keep the lid closed during the entire wash cycle. Thanks for choosing GE. Mike@GEA

I find that it makes very little noise, even during the spin cycle. I like the sound it makes when the wash has been completed. The many wash, rinse and spin options are also a plus. The fact that I have the ability to adjust the water level to my liking is great.

I work in the plumbing and heating and air fields of work. So, have heavily soiled clothes. Cleans em right up. Has extra rinse and spin options too. Also, I wash my bedding frequently and use the bulky option. Happy with it.

I like the different options and it does clean the clothes well.
