Love this new Washing machine. Washing machines all have a bad rap nowadays because of minimal water usage. This GE model lets you add
More water when you need it. It also has a dual agitator which really moves your laundry in the water in the machine. Also this machine does not
Lock the lid when in the fill mode letting you add more clothes if you want to. May be a little loud at times but it’s okay. If you want a quieter machine pick the GE profile models with direct drive. But you won’t have a dual agitator.
I’m glad I picked this model & satisfied my washing needs. I was frustrated with the other brands. My model is GTW585BSV3WS.
It’s not perfect but cleans my clothes and love that you can add more water.

I really like this machine itself. It has every function I was looking for, and has way better reviews than earlier ones that provided options to the user. My first requirement was to spare my old house plumbing by using water more sparingly, but letting me set levels myself if I really need to. It has an agitator rather than an impeller, and a separate spin cycle. If used on light soil (all I have around here at this point) it has really reasonable cycle lengths. 37-40 minutes is fine with me. I haven't washed a comforter yet, but no problems with it leaving clothes, towels, or light blankets not fully submerged in water, or detergent being left on clothes, or any of the complaints I sometimes read about He machines in general. I love that it has a limited 10 year parts warranty on motor and transmission.
The negative, which caused me to drop a star in rating is:
I have to distinguish between the value of the washer itself (*****) and that of this drain hose (no more than **). I've had 2 iffy installations of it so far. The thing is lightweight ribbed plastic with no upgraded version available. Only a zip tie attaching it to one of the fill hoses is steadying the entire hose between the faucets/drain hole (30+ inches up from the floor) and the connection to the machine bottom left (seen from back of machine). The hose moves around too much. If by chance it's positioned between the metal fill hoses and the wall, it whacks them against the back of the machine.
After a 2nd installation, the fill hose slamming racket is remedied, but now the hose rubs against the wall while in use (manual says no) and the power cord. And it sometimes moves so much that I'm concerned about its connection at the machine's base - granted that I know nothing about the strength of that connection!
Clips that are supposed to come with the drain hose were not supplied, at least in my case.
I've ordered clips from GE (and an extra $79! hose for future good measure) and will make another Geek Squad appointment, hoping for the best this time.
Word to the Wise: Even if you don't need a clip installed on the back of the machine to guard against hose siphoning (I don't), you may well need it to secure the hose against the back of the machine and hold it steady. Before installation, would be good to read the manual on drain hose install and *parts that should be included* - and check out the diagram that shows the hose threaded through a clip on the washer's upper back. Then you'll be prepared when the installers arrive and can challenge politely and question if need arises. Setups differ, so...
I hope this was just a fluke experience with this hose! As long as I can get this issue resolved, I'm very happy with this machine and definitely recommend.

I never knew just how bad I needed this washing machine until I got it. The large tub makes doing laundry so much less time consuming for my family of 5. I love the cycle options and the cycle timer on display. It leaves my clothes so clean and spins them so well that minimal drying time is needed. I will be buying the matching dryer very soon!

We’ve had this washer for a few weeks now and have had enough time to do several loads. We love how quiet is is and how clean our clothes come out. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is in need of a large load washer that is a top loader instead of the smelly front loaders.

good product--i dont care for the loick lid action when in use. takes to long for device to stop and unlock. i may need to add additional items, but have to wait...

I love this washer. And Best Buy was great to work with. They hooked everything up and showed my husband how to use it and made sure it was working properly before they left. Thank You Best Buy you will get my business from now on!!!
