Please make sure the washer has been properly leveled as this could effect the balance of the tub during the spin cycle. If you have confirmed it has been leveled properly and continue to have out-of-balance issues, please call 1-800-432-2737 to schedule an appointment to have the washer checked by GE service. The Department of Energy (DOE) sets standards for washer water usage. Over the years, the amount of allowable water usage has been reduced. With washers using less water and energy, you will no longer see a wash basket full of water. Most washers are now programmed with load sensing to adjust water levels based on the cycle and load size, so the amount of water used will vary. Rest assured, however, that your clothes are still being cleaned just as sufficiently as before despite the lower amount of water being used. However, when doing large loads (Towels, blankets) when spin cycle comes on it can be an extreme pain to get your load to properly drain and spin all extra water out so you can dry them. It wants to auto balance all the time and when spin cycle comes on the drum will spin out of control banging the inside of washer and then stop spinning.

It clunks around and makes horrible noises and never balances anything like towels, sheets, throw blankets. It's terrible. Everything is soaked. Nothing is spinning properly and it takes nearly 2 hours as it keeps trying to drain and spin but fails. I had this machine almost 5 years now and thought I was just doing it wrong , but nope, It's not me. My adult son was doing laundry and had same issue. I called Best Buy as I have the extended 5 year warranty still active and they are not fixing it as it's not showing error codes or helping me at all. They say I only had one work order to fix it. Well when I'm told it can't be repaired as it's a flaw in the design, then how would multiple work orders even take place? And with extended warranty how is that even fair? Why bother buying those if they are ignored. I will be going to the store and speaking to someone who can work with me. I am also a Best Buy Total Tech member and have been for years. I am not looking for special treatment, I just want a machine that will work properly.

I have no idea why because this machine was brand new and still can't figure it out. I've had this machine for two years, worst purchase ever. The balance on this washer drives me crazy. No matter what i wash if it's too heavy on one side, the washer won't spin and stops. It doesn't matter if it's a light load or heavy load. I have to keep adjusting the weight or take out items so my washer will spin. It's also loud and not quiet like it says. Won't be buying another GE product cause this one was so horrible. Waste of money.

Of course it only has a 1 year warranty. All this new “high efficiency” stuff is worthless. My 25 year old garage fridge will outlast all of my brand new appliances.
