Electronics Controls Failing JUST out of warrantee

Everything was working perfectly and now suddenly the electronic controls have stopped working. There was no power surge, the outlet and all electrical to the laundry room is perfect (everything else was tested and works fine). All troubleshooting and resets have failed. How can such an expensive appliance only be covered for a year? Are they designed to fail so GE can continue to make money selling extended warranties and parts? IF the products are so good, why not stand behind them? I am so disappointed with GE. This is NOT what I expect from such a major brand and I will not buy nor recommend them to anyone.

It looks great and the stackable feature is nice (thus 2-star rating), but the following issues make it certain that I will never purchase a GE washer again: 1) the drum cannot handle a load of moderate/heavy size - the unit is unable to rinse a queen size comforter, sheet and pillow set all at one time; comparable units do this no problem. 2) the pump buzzed intermittently without the machine powered on and finally went out just past the warranty mark, 3) the unit trips the new SquareD QO arc-fault breakers constantly. Right after the door locks and the cycle begins the breaker trips. There is a recall notice at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Md0zSqHUbPGGz3FZD4cWIV7YBJjBtBl1/view?pli=1 - despite this particular model number suffix (2) not being on the list, the symptoms are exactly the same as the recall. These (3) major issues are the reason for the 2-star review. For the price tag and name, you'd expect much more. This is coming from a mechanical engineer who works on all different types of systems/units. Please do better GE.

I like that my phone tells me when there is five minutes left and again when finished. Yes it also reminds me if I’ve forgotten & left clothes in 30 minutes. I have used the vent several days. It does leave a little odor. It is just a little deeper than my old one so had to remove a bracket from laundry door but it closes now!
