I wish I had done more research on front-load washers (this is my first) since apparently GE has a reputation for having terrible spin-cycle engineering in their machines, all the way back to 2012! No matter how long the spin-cycle runs, or for how many HOURS, or how many times I rebalance it, clothes are still SOAKING WET at the end, like you can wring cups of water out of the laundry when it's done. I do all the laundry for our house and it's making me miserable. I didn't realize the return/exchange window was so short, only 15 days, so I'll have to figure out what to do now. Thanks for wasting hours of my life GE!

Posted .Hello there, we're so sorry to hear that your clothes have been coming out of your washer so wet. We can absolutely see how annoying this would be for you and we're happy to help. If the clothes seem too wet after the wash cycle is complete, the following are possible causes: 1) A "slow spin" may have been selected. A slow spin will eliminate less water than a fast spin. 2) Cold water can make clothes feel more wet. If this is not the case, service may be required. 3) Oversudsing from too much detergent may slow down the final spin cycle, causing a suds lock. If the problem persists, we recommend taking advantage of your warranty and scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. You can do so by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). We hope this information is useful to you and we're wishing you the best. - Guy@GEA

Though, we certainly are sorry that the drain hose length is too short for your setup. This would be discouraging and we can understand your concern. Thankfully, we offer an optional drain hose extension (recommended for discharging heights from 60” - 96”) and its part number is WH49X316. On first impression, I was in love! The venting isn’t as life changing as I was expecting but it’s cool. Now, TWICE this washer has left my clothes DRIPPING wet despite the spin speed. Once was a larger load of clothes than were literally dripping, and the other was a small load of one bath mat. Dripping wet. The clothes smelled awful (like rot or urine), but the bath mat was fine. I’m not sure why twice now the washer hasn’t completely spun my clothes dry or drained enough to put the clothes in the washer. For the bath mat, I had to set it on spin 3 extra times to get it dry enough for the dryer.

Oversudsing from too much detergent may slow down the final spin cycle, causing a suds lock. - Lower than normal spin speed/wet clothes: this occurs as a result of oversudsing. The use of HE detergent will decrease the chance of suds lock; use HE detergent only and be sure to use the recommended measured amount. You can run a drain/spin cycle to remove the excess water in the clothes. - For the clothing odor, we'd recommend checking your washer's drain hose to make sure it's installed properly and to use High Efficiency (HE) detergent in your washer.
