What trash. Over $900 and didn't even last three years. It broke almost to the day, 3-years after I purchased it. GE's software must be programmed to trash the unit as soon as the warranty ends. I will never buy another GE product. Our last Samsung washer lasted over 10 years without issue.

Wouldn’t recommend this washer. Picked up our washer and did 3 loads of laundry and it worked great. Went to turn it on the next day and it wouldn’t turn on or do anything. Called Geek Squad and we were informed someone couldn’t be out for a week. Well technician shows up today and the circuit board is bad already and part will not be in for a week. Not starting off very good.

Broke. Less than 3 years. We are looking for a new washer now.

Purchased almost 3 years ago…we thought, GE is a good brand, it should be able to handle our heavy use…not so much. We wash clothes almost daily for our family of 7 and this poor washer started making strange noises and thumping a little after a year of use, if not sooner. The manufacturer warranty is only 1 year. Best Buy installed the set. They are stacked. It sounds like the drum is already messed up. Our clothes smell bad if left in the washer for more than 15-30 minutes. It’s splattering softener all over the front panel. It screeches when spinning. I thought I added the geek squad plan when purchased but somehow it didn’t get added. If you buy this washer, get the extended coverage…you will probably need it.

Decent machine unless you want to do a small load. It doesn’t recognize a small load on any cycle, so it doesn’t spin them dry. Look elsewhere.

The washer stopped working after 2 years,we tried everything but it wont start

I wish I could give this zero starts. I thought after not having a front loader for ten years, that there would have been some serious improvements made. Nope. Nothing I do makes our clothes smell nice. If I want to wash my comforter, there is not a single setting that will get the entire blanket wet. It comes out half dry (its a thin queen blanket...nothing too crazy). I would give anything to have a top loader back. This machine makes me so sad and I hate that I have wasted the money on it. Not even a year old.

Almost 2 years washer and stopped draining the other day. Technician came and changed the drain pump, the door switch as well since the door was not opening. After changing the drain pump, the machine was still not draining so now we have to change the main board. NEVER buying GE again. Once, it dies again, I am buying another brand. The repair costed me half a new washer. NEVER again GE. Do not buy!

I absolutely loved this washer, bought specifically for the anti-mold technology. Worked well for two years. Developed a loud whining and grinding noise. Repairman says it’s the motor. Going to cost me nearly $500 to fix. Would get something new but he says all washers “are junk” these days. I’m furious to spend this much money on an appliance that craps out like this. There’s only two of us so it’s not like we wore it out.

We have had 3 separate issues with this washer in just over 2 years. First the inverter quit, I ordered the part and replaced myself, $150. Then the main board went out, I wasn't sure of the issue so hired a repair person, $400. Now, with it just sitting there on a day we hadn't used it, glass in the door shattered. Have to buy the entire door unit, $235. Now if I had paid a repairman the other 2 times at $110 each occurance plus the extra markup on price. We are very disappointed. At what point do you just chuck it in the trash and get something else?

This washer has so many great features that I love like microban technology and tumble care to keep your clothes from getting that mildew smell if you leave them in the washer for a while. But I hate it. I hate it because it has shrunk EVERYTHING I own, including my washable couch cushion covers so now all my couch cushions are too small for my couch and have large gaps between them. I wash everything on COLD (not even tap cold). I even stopped using the delicate cycle because I thought maybe it used warm water at some point because it was shrinking everything. I use the specified COLD WASH CYCLE low spin and my clothes still came back SHRUNK. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING??? I am beyond upset. Fantastic waste of money since it has effectively cost me several hundred dollars in clothes and MY COUCH BEING RUINED. Maybe it's the internal water heater. I don't know. I can't find any information on why this is happening. It is beyond me how a cold wash cycle can shrink stuff.

The washer have a problem . We have to change for other .

Loud noise when spinning. Only had for 2 years. Technician says this are the worst washers. Unable to fix as no parts are available and would have cost 500 dls to fix.

Terrible item, it has broken 2 times already and for repairs, it would take at least than 2 weeks if you are lucky

Not the best product I even bought. I understand it was a discounted item but it it already has issues. If it would have been good quality, it should not have issues in the first few years of use

I purchased the GE-4.8 Washer for $748 in August 2023, which puked out in January 2025. Seventeen months. It was an excellent machine until the tub bearing went out. The estimated repair was $656. I would not buy again
