Customers are saying

Customers regard the 4.8 Cu. Ft. High-Efficiency Front Load Washer with UltraFresh Vent System highly for its cleaning performance, quiet operation, and large capacity, with many also praising its ease of use and the effective UltraFresh Vent System. Positive feedback also highlights the powerful spin cycle, resulting in reduced drying time. While some users experienced issues with reliability and reported occasional musty smells, these concerns were less frequent than the overwhelmingly positive reviews.

    Fantastic Washer

Great washer. After going through multiple Maytag that broke or didn't work well shortly after purchase we decided no more Maytag and went with GE. This washer is fantastic. It handles huge loads , is super quiet, spins well and has an extra water button that adds an extra 3 gallons to the load. It's a front loader that actually adds enough water. The longest cycle we have found so far is 1 hour 32 minutes if you set it to the heaviest soil, prewash and extra rinse. Our old Maytag had cycles going over 2 hours. We normally just do bulky normal extra water extra rinse and clothes are done in an hour. Love the option for quick wash that only takes 20 mins too. Lots of options . The vent system seems ok , though we still just usually crack the door. It is nice that you can set it to tumble clothing if you are going to leave it in the washer for a while and the option to do hand wash items and have it tumble air dry them is nice. We are hard on washers. We need to toss everything in, not sort or worry about it and walk away...come back to clean clothes. This washer does it and does it quietly. The drum is tipped which allows you to pause and add clothes at almost every part of the cycle without draining the washer. It's really well designed. The microban gasket and other areas stay really clean too. The wifi connectivity is kind of wasted on us, but I can see some advantages to it. Overall so far we are loving this washer!!! We bought the set , put them on 7 inch pedestals. I think the 16 inch would be too tall for most laundry spaces and the drawers under the machines seem to increase noise..plus if you don't want to bend to get laundry out, why would you want to bend even further to get out laundry supplies from a drawer? I'm 5'7" and the 7 inch pedestals are perfect. Make sure if you install this yourself or get it delivered and installed that you do the pedestals at the time you install. Putting them on later would mean unhooking everything, reinstalling shipping bolts to flip the washer on its side etc . Much easier to do it when you put the machines in new Don't forget to save your shipping bolts in case you ever have to move the washer. Because of all our previous washer troubles, we did opt for the Total tech package. It gives you 60 days to return the appliance if there's a problem or you don't like it, and 499 for the year it also means that if a repair has to be done it only costs you $9. You have the option to add it for a second year as well. We got the washer and dryer set on sale so even adding the $199 still put us below what it normally sells for and gives us the protection. The nice thing about the total tech package is also anything else you buy is also covered under the same package. We bought our daughter a new TV and we have also purchased some other things like a TV for one of the kids, video doorbell, cameras computer supplies etc . All of it is covered under the same package. If you weren't buying a major appliance, it might not make sense to spend that, but since we were we decided it was worth it and a nice perk to have everything else covered too. Overall I would recommend this washer over every single other washer I have tried owned or seen!

When our previous washer stopped working, we wanted to get a washer that was worth the price and made laundry a little easier. This one fits the bill! The high-capacity means laundry takes less time and the washer does a fantastic job getting our clothes clean. It’s super easy to use and has a setting for anything we need to wash. We love it!

I bought this machine after Seeing one at work. It looked like a quality machine and we were in the market to replace the dying washer we had. I was a bit nervous about the front loader because they are known to get oders in them. This machine has a venting system that dries the inside. So far no oders. The capacity of this washer is huge. It cleans the laundry and spins all loads to a damp dry. I love this washer.

This washer replaced a 3-year old washer of another brand, which made us crazy with noise, shaking and “walking” around the laundry room. We are very satisfied with the GE, it is silent, cleans wonderfully and the 4.8 Cu. Ft. capacity is another plus. I would definitely recommend it.

Much larger than I expected. I like there are so many settings and it washes great and fast. Disappointed because I paid a lot of money for the higher end washer with venting…. You still have to leave the door open. I’ve already got a musty smell. The soap dispenser area always has water in it so you have to leave it open. Then, come to find out, there is a drain plug you have to open once a month but it sits so low on the floor you can’t get a pan under it to catch the water and a dish is to shallow. Water goes everywhere. I figured I would have 90 days to return, but I only got 30. Guess I’m stuck with it.

    1. Quiet 2. Large capacity 3. Vent system = game changer 4. Quick wash setting 5. Has settings we haven’t used such as Wi-fi control and detergent capacity that have potential, 6. Easy to use 7. Spin is SO good = less dry time 8. Only reason why I didn’t rate 5 stars is we’ve only had it for under a month.

Excellent Washer!!!! Easy to use. Big fan of the UltraFresh Vent System to prevent your clothes from smelling. Fits large loads of laundry and extremly quiet. Really enjoy the app where you can keep track of how much time is left on the cycle and can pause or start load. Would highly recommend!!!!

So far so good, purchased this washer about a month ago and have been very happy with it so far. Very easy to use, good capacity, lots of nice features. Quiet and solid, have not had any issue with vibrations during spin. Attractive design as far as washing machines go. I went with this model over the top of the line as I did not need the high end features such as steam cleaning. This model does include Wifi which at first seems silly but is actually nice as it will optionally send a notification to your phone when laundry is almost done, done, and when you have left the clothes in for more than 30 minutes (very helpful). Also notifies when it's time to run the cleaning cycle (every 40 loads). Lastly, the washer has an optional venting cycle that can be run after use to dry out the machine if you don't want to or can't leave the door open. What you should know about this feature is it essentially just runs the machine in a slow, no water cycle for about 8 hours, so if using you'll want to do that after all your loads are done (maybe before bed).

This was a salesperson recommendation and I'm glad we decided to try it. We had good experience with G.E. kitchen appliances in the past. The washer has good cycle choices we like including all types of fabric, you can also choose your water temperature as well as the cycle spin speed. And it has an extra rinse cycle! It has cleaned everything quite well- no need to launder a second time. On capacity: I prefer to do small to medium loads but when we did need a heavier load, it did great. It is rather noisy. We liked to do a load at night but the laundry room is too close to the bedroom. It is fine during the day. Plus, it really has a good look! Yes, I recommend this product.

Just received it a few weeks ago so this is only immediate perception. Incredibly quiet. Generous space so no issue with fitting my comforter. Medium spin speed gets so much water out of my fabrics that my dryer time and air dry time is noticably shorter. I think my fabrics will hold up longer. The negative I have is that the rubber gasket is soft enough that dog hair, etc won't easily wipe off. It's almost impossible to get it off so far. Also, the units is large and incredible heavy. The installers were amazing and were able to get the machine in my basement, but I don't think that unit is coming back out!

After spending 3+ months trying to get my 3 year old Samsung front load washer repaired without success, the extended warranty insurance coverage finally allowed me to order a new washer. I chose another very highly rated Samsung front load washer. But, weird... even though it was installed correctly, on a cold/cold setting it was pumping in boiling hot water. Never gave warm, never gave cold. Only hottest of HOT. On top of that, within 4 days of receipt of this brand spanking new Samsung, it COMPLETELY broke down- I am NOT making this up, NOT kidding... it lasted precisely FOUR FREAKING DAYS before whatever suspends the tub "let go" so that while it was in its spin cycle it just started free slamming around inside the washer box... and it never shut itself off, either... I had to yank the plug out to stop it! It was at that moment I determined that Samsung makes JUNK appliances and decided to order a different brand. Shish, slow learner, here. ;oP Anyway, I had had really good luck with two Whirlpool dishwashers- one in my rental and one in my own residence, so I thought I would try a Whirlpool clothes washer... that is until I found out that in order to clean out the lint filter (something you definitely want to do with a front load washer) I would have to completely remove the front panel of the washer to access the clean out. SERIOUSLY Whirlpool??? That's NUTS. THEN I decided to try this GE model. I was literally suffering from a hard core case of "crappy appliance PTSD" by then, so I was not particularly optimistic that the GE would perform any better. But, I was running out of ideas and choices, so, I read through what was available in the GE line, and decided on this model and crossed my fingers. It arrived. The Best Buy installers were sweethearts and got it all hooked up nice and quick and got the hunk of junk Samsung OUT of my house. We did a test run and by golly, the cold wash was actually cold, the warm was warm, and the hot was hot. RADICAL, man! A washer that actually does what it's supposed to do!!! Get right out of town! I started to have hope! It's been five months now, and I have been using this machine hard. My tenants use the machine for their laundry, I use it for my personal laundry, and I used it for my business laundry- I have a house cleaning service and I use it to wash my giant loads of cleaning towels. I run a load at least once a day, usually more than once, and I am so very, VERY happy to report that it has not missed a beat! It handles large heavy loads like a breeze. It gets everything super clean. It's UltraFresh Vent system is kind of cool... it'll just go into that mode on its own after a load and dry itself out. Usually I just leave the door open to let it dry out, but when I forget to do that, it dries itself out. Took some getting used to because I didn't realize what the sound was going off in my laundry room... just a soft whirring sound. The first time I noticed it, I'd forgotten that it had this feature. I heard this strange sound and went to investigate and went, "Oh, yeah. Huh." And it does get it dry, by gum. It has a SMART feature, but I haven't used that. Don't really need it, but some may find it cool. Oh, and the door hinge can be set up to open from the left or right, you just have to specify what you want when it's installed. The controls are super easy to understand, and the cycles aren't insanely long. Years ago, I had a BOSH front loader that took THREE FREAKING HOURS to do a regular load! So inefficient. What I like best about this model is this: IT WORKS. I turn it on. It plays a happy little jingle for me. I pick out my settings, I add my detergent and other additives, I put my dirty laundry in, close the door and press "go". The correct temperature water fills the tub. It gets its assigned load done in the promised amount of time. The clothes get nice and clean but not beat up. What more can I hope for? Well, that it keeps ON working this well, and hoping that it lasts at least 10 years like it SHOULD. So far, I am really, REALLY happy, GE. Keep up the good work. Don't compromise, don't sink to making cheap JUNK. I'll pay more for stuff that works right and has a good long lifespan.

I don't have anything bad to say about this washer in how it functions. The app that reminds you to get your clothes out of the wash is amazing. The knob functions/wash cycles are really easy to use. It's relatively quiet. It seems like they put a lot of thought into the seal and vent system. It fits a comforter & a couple of small clothes in one cycle. I haven't had any trouble fitting loads into it and everything comes out clean. (We've had this washer for about a month now)

I needed a stackable washer/dryer that fit in a laundry closet of a newly built townhome - the spaces are so narrow nowadays!! I didn't need dozens and dozens of fancy options, and this model, though modern, kept the options to a minimum (though there are still too many that I will never use!) The delivery team did an excellent job installing on the 3rd floor with just a few wall dings that were easy to paint over...did I say how narrow these new homes are nowadays!! The washer and dryer have a pleasantly large interior capacity, and the washer really dries out the items with it's spinning cycle - almost like I could just hang dry most of the items for the day and skip the dryer completely. When stacked, the dryer console is rather high so you may need a stool to reach the dryer buttons at the top once stacked, or just have great overhead reach! I've had these for one month now and am pleased.
