    Excellent ventilation but LOUD

Fits alot of laundry. I like the vent so i can close the door and not worry about a mildew smell after wash is done. However, unfortunately it is LOUD. If you do the quick wash with a smaller amount of clothes it doesnt spin good enough. I end up having to do a spin cycle as well after the quick wash. It does have a cool soap holder inside that you can fill up and jt will dispense every cycle amount needed and lets you know when the reservoir needs filling.

This washing machine has met the needs of our large family. I made sure to really use this machine A LOT in the first two weeks we owned it because I was prepared to send it back if it didn't live up to my expectations. No return was necessary! I love this machine! I have two toddlers and three big kids. The toddlers usually end up with layers of food on their clothes by the end of the day but this machine can get them out. I have had to clean up several diaper blowouts and potty accidents since owning this machine and it could handle all of them--without having to run everything through the wash twice. I can run the machine on the "Normal" setting and everything comes out clean and smelling fresh the first time. I use the Smart Dispense feature, which is really handy for instructing the 10-year-old on how to run a load of laundry. All he has to do is turn the dial to "Normal" and press start. No over-measuring detergent or trying to rinse out the measuring cup. I am able to put my hand wash items into lingerie bags and run the "Delicate" cycle without any damage to my items. Even items washed in cold water come out completely clean almost every time. Only once have I had to wash something a second time, but it was a tricky stain and the fabric required cold water and a delicate cycle. I am also really pleased with how much laundry the machine can handle and still get everything clean. I am able to do laundry less frequently and run fewer loads because it can handle so much. I have not used any of the wireless features and do not really plan to, so I cannot speak to that. I run the UltraFresh Vent System when I am done with laundry for the day and the washer has remained mold- and odor-free. However, I always wipe down the gasket and door with a soft cloth before I run the vent cycle because I noticed that water would form a small puddle at the bottom of the gasket that would still be there when the vent cycle was done. When I do a quick once-over on the gasket and door before I run the vent cycle, everything is dry at the end. Overall, this was a great purchase that has made me look forward to laundry day!

My new washer has plenty of space. I love having a light inside. It’s quite and does a great job of cleaning my clothes. Clothes are not as tangled as that last front loader I had.

The machine works. I bought this to replace an lg model after 3 failed units. I like the fact that it works as intended. Every once in a while it will leave the clothes extremely wet after the spin cycle and the machine is loud while filling and sounds like an airplane while spinning. However it works! I tried the all in one on a small load of delicates and it didn’t dry anything at all. I had to hang dry them. The self venting system is great it works as intended. There is no smell. I’d save some money and go with the model without the wash and dry but I can say my clothes are clean. It works! It’s also tricky to learn how to just run it in spin mode. There is no spin cycle. You must choose rinse and spin and disable the extra rinse feature for spin only mode.

    Big Blue

Please note: I purchased my original machine August 2021. It began leaking detergent from the holding tank down the front of the machine. The detergent was dissolving the hoses to the tank! Also, the door switch began to fail because of detergent dripping on it causing it to short out. After attempted repairs and due to a delay in parts, GE replaced that unit with a brand new one just last month. This review will cover my experience with BOTH machines. I have 3 German Shepherd dogs. I often find it necessary to launder comforters and big items of bedding. I selected this particular GE machine because it is 5 cu ft inside and can handle large loads very well. Since the white model was on a huge backorder from nearly every vendor, I chose the blue one because it was readily available. I must admit, it is beautiful and makes doing laundry fun! I really liked the detergent dispensing tank because it made it easy. However, I will no longer be using that same detergent because it is so caustic, nor will I be using the dispensing tank anymore. The detergent cup does not accept Pods, however it will accept liquid and powder detergents. The machine is very energy efficient and my electric company even gave me a rebate because of it. The machine is very noisy so be prepared for that. It does not handle unbalanced loads very well. If it is unable to balance a load, it will spin very slowly. For this reason, make sure you do not wash only one item. Balance it out. It has a wifi sensor in it which allows you to program it from your mobile phone. I have not used that feature, nor do I need it. I wish that the End of Cycle Signal was louder. There are 3 settings for it. The loudest one is barely audible. (Engineers: Please make it louder for us senior citizens.) It has two features that are unique: When done doing laundry, you can set it to run with a fan to dry the drum. Although it is energy efficient, this feature runs for 8 hours. I prefer to just leave the door ajar to allow it to dry. The 2nd feature that is unique is that you can set it to Wash And Dry a load. This is the same concept, once done washing, the load will tumble for 8 hours to dry it. This might be a great feature for someone who wants to pop in a load at bedtime anticipating that it will be dry when you get up. However, as with the other feature, I do not intend to use it. Big Blue handles my comforters very well. Another thing that is unique to this machine which, indeed, makes it so efficient is that once a load begins and water begins to dispense, it stops and actually weighs the load in order to provide just the right amount of water, not too much, but just right. Living in an arid climate where water is a precious resource, this feature is probably one of the most vital. The door seal is made with Microban which prevents the huge issue of mold. I just love this feature. With that, I'm hoping my new Big Blue will last me the rest of my life. Recommends this product ✔ Yes

We purchased the washer and dryer set because of the price and GE history. It really does wash really well. It takes a lil longer than my LG/Samsung washer did. I am an LG/Samsung buyer at heart, Everything we own is LG/Samsung. The 2 most irritating features of the washer. When you go to clean out the filter. You need to have a coin or flat head in hand. There is no lip to open the filter door like the LG/Samsung has. The other is the beeping sound after a wash. You have to leave the door open for a bit to air it out. On the plus side. They have a feature where you can start a load from your phone.

I love this washer but here are my pros and cons for other buyers. Pros: efficient wash cycles, washes out stains really well, the fresh vent works well, numerous cycles for your needs. Cons: spin cycle is a bit loud(doesn’t bother me, I shut the laundry room door), the cycles do take longer but I’d rather my laundry be clean, clean than just slopped around, not a huge fan of the steam cycle. Not entirely sure how it works but I didn’t feel like it did much. Maybe I did it wrong, I don’t know. The buttons are super sensitive to touch. It doesn’t annoy me or anything but leaning against the machine will set the buttons off. Everything else I like. It’s a fantastic machine. Hoping to get many, many years of use from it!

It's only been with us for a couple of weeks, but this washing machine has so far been a reliable workhorse for our family of 7. We'd also been looking at the LG and Samsung models, but they were getting a little long in the tooth (3+ years) and this GE model had some new tech which was intriguing to me. Originally I was concerned about its size since it is smaller than the one it was replacing, but it has handled our largest loads with ease so far. The auto detergent dispenser is also great - it figures out how much detergent to use much more scientifically than when I do it myself - I think my clothes are actually cleaner. I gave it 4/5 for ease of use because setting up the WiFi was a little tricky. I am fairly technical and made my way through it ok, but I can see less technical people not finding it easy. But once it is connected, the app and notifications are actually much more useful than I ever imagined. Quite honestly I didn't think I'd ever care to know my real-time washing status and usage history. Wife loves the color (we got blue) and it has held up to the scratching of baskets and other stuff that we usually end up storing on top. Overall highly recommended

Needed a replacement for old washer dryer set

Needed a new washer and dryer for a set that was probably over 10 years old. We needed a capacity upgrade and also wanted to get some new features. The steam settings are nice but the microban seal and the autovent are really nice. They keep the washer dry and clean after use and prevent it from molding or smelling bad. I also like the automatic detergent dispenser. You fill up the dispenser and it claims it will give the right amount per load and should do up to 40 loads before needing to be refilled. We were using pods so waiting till thise run out to switch back to liquid. Overall, a great washer and dryer and I really like the blue color.

This machine is a BOSS!!! I washed my king size comforter in it. I washed everything I could possibly wash. I love it!! The vent system is really nice, I come back and it’s dry inside. The laundry dispenser is nice so I don’t have to worry about the kids putting too much detergent in. So far, can’t say one bad thing. And I researched, but since this was new I took a chance and so glad I did!! I even love getting the messages telling me it’s almost done washing.

Love this color! Easy to operate and the vent is great at drying the insides to prevent the awful smell of the LG model we had. The sensors are very good at determining the cycle times. I also like the ability to add more than just one load of soap at a time. It would have been a 5 star experience if we would hve received the manual. Still hasn't arrives

Had this washer for 3 weeks. So far extremely pleased with the performance. It does exactly what it claims to do. Love the capacity. Our king size bedding and towels are easily accommodated. Clothes come out clean and rinsed properly. Haven't tried the was/dry feature yet. Also like the venting to dry the tub and gasket.

Great installation crew, love the features on this washer like the detergent reservoir that automatically dispenses appropriate amount of detergent, prewash, extra rinse, easy to use with excellent results and quiet. Issues after 1 Year

This is the first washing machine that I ever had an issue with. Exactly one day after the 1 year warranty expired, it left the laundry wet after the spinning cycle. I regularly clean the lint tray and when I opened it to see if there was a blockage, water gushed out. I did not find any blockage. I called the service department and they told me they can dispatch a technician but I have to pay for it. Now after every wash, the laundry is wet and smells bad and I have to let the water out of the lint tray and unfortunately, it is so low to the ground, you cannot fit a bowl underneath and it dumps the water all over the floor, which is annoying. I put it in storage as I have moved temporarily and use the rental unit machine, which works great, but I am moving to a permanent location had have to use it again. This machine has a high price tag and I don't feel like having to pay a mechanic to come out and pay to fix it. One year warranty is not enough, in European countries they come with 3 years. I would not buy this machine again.

Love the size/capacity. I am able to wash everything in my household. Even though I was looking for a larger capacity, this one meets all my needs. Love the color as a bonus. It is smart and efficient. It senses when the clothes are out of balance and rebalances. My clothes come out so much more cleaner than any of my previous 4 washes that I have had. The price was right in the ball park with most front load and way less than the top brands. I did a lot of research before buying and I feel that the top brands would NOT had provided me with any additional benefits. I have already recommended this washer and the matching dryer to all my family. I have always had great experience and long life times with ALL of my GE products.

Amazing washer, handles any type of load we have tried to do so far. It’s a little loud with towels or bedding but we can barely hear it with any other type of clothing. The smart detergent release is very convenient and simple to use. I love the countdown and completion notifications as a reminder.
