So far, I believe the venting feature + microban seal has been helping with this concern. We also leave the door slightly ajar. The color is beautiful.

Drying in the washer?!

I feel like I should add this for everyone to see THE WASH/DRY CYCLE TAKES 8+ HOURS. It works, but it is not fast. It’s just a tumble dry with no heat.

Luckily, we had a great associate help us make what I believe was the best choice. We purchased the GE - 5.0 Cu. Ft. High-Efficiency Front Load Washer because of the Ultra Vent system and the ability to wash and dry certain items. The bonus was it was Sapphire blue!

Add this to the fact that the dryer electronics weren’t working right and I wasn’t happy. I don’t feel that the auto detergent dispenser dispenses enough soap so I am not using it. Service man came and said there was a software issue and the washer was imbalanced. After updating it seems fine now. I feel like this washer beats up our clothes. Seems harsher than my last washer. My clothes seem like they are getting ratty after washing. I don’t think I would buy it again.

Waterless Washing machine

I inquired with GE about the issue because my clothing is heavily soiled with oil and other lubricants due to my line of work. I have tried every wash option on the highest soil level and the only way to get clean clothes is to literally pour water into the drom during the wash cycle. PLEASE BE AWARE this unit does not have the handy water pressure adjustment that all other brands have, so you are literally stuck with damp washing cycles. I will also state that my previous 15 year old GE front load unit actually cleaned, I'm the one who decided i wanted something "smart" and "fancy" I understand the government reg blah blah but GE definitely could have given the user the pressure adjustment as a work around.

I get excited about doing laundry. The controls give me the options I want. I use less water than my old washer. Also got a rebate from my water utility. I Iove the way it looks, I love the way it works. Couldn't be happier

I love the WiFi feature because it literally sends you a notification to your phone when your laundry is ready or when it’s been sitting in the washer for over 30 minutes.

Though, we did not expect the washer to stop working after 1 year. After setting up an appointment with a GE tech, we were quoted around $620 for a gut feeling of replacing the inverter. We were told we might as well purchase a brand new washer. After being charged $115 for the visit, the tech left. I disassembled the washer and looked up a youtube video on how to run the BUILT IN diagnostics, and doing so, I found out it was the drum motor that was bad. After buying a replacement for $70, and installing it, my washer is back up and running. For the lack of tech expertise/professionalism, cost and overall lack of quality, we will not be buying GE appliances in the future.
