It has been just over 3 years since I purchased this washer. My previous front loader was the Samsung with silvercare and I was so in love with that washer I thought I would never be happy with another. So these are the pros and cons that stand out after 3 years. Pro-1. Washes great. Even better than my last front loader. 2.Lets me know when wash is done via app on my phone. ( helpful if you have stairs) 3.Rinses clothes so effectively I never have to use the extra rinse cycle for sensitive skin 4.Wash and dry in one capability is great if you remember at night you have no uniforms for the next day. I only use for a very small load or 1 outfit but not waiting up to put in dryer is priceless. Laundry is ready to wear when you get up in the morning. 5.Vent keeps washer fresh. And seems to reduce pet hair in drum after washing pet bedding ( more on that in con list) Con- 1.If you have pets, more pet hair is in the drum and around the seal than in my last unit. Last unit it just seemed to gather in a clump and easy to get rid of. Running the Vent after seems to help somewhat but still am wiping out more hair than I used to. ( I also have a dog that sheds more than usual) 2.THIS MAY BE ALL NEWER WASHERS- but the valves for the water slam on and off very quickly when filling so had to install mini-arresters between washer and hoses to not hear the water hammer in my pipes. 3.The LED light to light up the drum stopped working recently but I do have extended warranty through Best Buy and they are going to replace it (many don't have this feature at all, including my last unit ) 4.If you are picking up and putting in yourself it is the heaviest washer I have encountered. It is a solid machine but extremely heavy. Since we were in the height of appliance shortages due to covid at the time I purchased I had to pick up an hour away and forgo delivery to get this unit in a reasonable amount of time. Took 3 people to get it off the truck and in on appliance dolly when old one took 1 person. So I recommend delivery. All in all, I am super happy with the washer. It cleans wonderfully. My clothes come out great. Even better than my beloved last front loader. If I had to do it again I would get the same unit.

It makes way too much noise Had to buy extra parts just to stop it from moving around the whole laundry room

This washer is quite and so far the clothes come out nice and clean, no residue. I love the smart despense laundry soap option. I just wish they would have added it for the fabric softner as well. Great features to choose for different types of laundry. I havent used the wifi yet so I can't speak to its ease of use.

I wash at least a load of clothes or linens a day. I’m old fashioned and love a washer with an agitator because all my other “fancy” washers I’ve purchased in the past were awful. This is my first front load and boy, I’ll never buy a different type. Gets my clothes, comforters, etc CLEAN AF. It’s big though so definitely measure out .

GE washer is not good product. Continues to fault circuit breaker.

So many features sold me on this washer 2 years ago. For the first year this washer worked great, we kept it clean and didn’t maximize loads as we were hoping to get at least 10 years out of this washer. Unfortunately Christmas Eve is when everything went down hill and of course it would happen when you have family in town. Started a load of towels and it Stopped mid cycle : Our first repair needed - pump assembly and main control board. Once completed the repair guy started an empty load and the cycle couldn’t even get started when error code popped up. Second repair you guessed it main control board and drain pump as apparently that went out as well. We thought at this point we were free and clear from any more repairs for 2023. Nope 2 months later the motor went out. A year and a half old and the motor went out, again we don’t use the washer every day and we keep loads at a reasonable size. At this point all major repairs have been addressed .. you would think. Here we are 90 days later and had the same repair guy come out that has been out multiple times prior and he just informed us we need a new main control board. I reached out to GE directly to see if this model had any recalls and to explain this has to be a lemon as I would like to file a lemon claim. I was basically told to go kick rocks since my 1 year warranty expired already. ~ Please keep this in mind ~ 10000% invest in a extended warranty or insurance if you end up purchasing.
