It started having problems not long after we bought it, and then completely stopped working way sooner than it should have. For the price, I expected something much more reliable. The dryer took longer and longer to dry clothes, made strange noises, and eventually just gave out. Dealing with customer service and repairs was frustrating and time-consuming. A major appliance should last years without issues, not break down this quickly. I would not recommend this dryer based on my experience.

As the dryer isn’t working at all, we recommend disconnecting the appliance for a couple of minutes before reconnecting; this can often solve an issue. Information about what to try when the dryer won’t start normally is available on page 11 of the manual; the manual can be viewed on Best Buy’s product page for the model when you go to the ‘Features’ section and scroll to the bottom. Information about what to try when clothes are taking too long to dry is also available on that page. We have an article discussing what sounds you may hear on our GE Appliances website; that’s titled “Dryer – Noises” and can be viewed when you look up the title on our website and click the ‘Support’ tab. Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We purchased a 7.2 Cu ft GE electric dryer under 2 years ago, and the dryer is now completely broken and defective. An element wire burned itself out two times, the second time of which ruined the machine. GE reps were unable or unwilling to help since this occurred narrowly outside of the 1-year manufacturer warranty. Our dryer tech suggested Whirlpool or Maytag, and to generally avoid GE models at all costs based on excessive issues they see with GE products across the board. Issues with heating elements with GE models have also been clear in online reviews.
