Issues with heating elements - avoid GE

We purchased a 7.2 Cu ft GE electric dryer under 2 years ago, and the dryer is now completely broken and defective. An element wire burned itself out two times, the second time of which ruined the machine. GE reps were unable or unwilling to help since this occurred narrowly outside of the 1-year manufacturer warranty. Our dryer tech suggested Whirlpool or Maytag, and to generally avoid GE models at all costs based on excessive issues they see with GE products across the board. Issues with heating elements with GE models have also been clear in online reviews.
