Disappointed with Washer and Dryer Purchase

We were told by Best Buy/Pacific Sales that GE is known for their top loader washers. At first, we could not get the washer to properly clean the clothes. After a cycle, the clothes were still dirty. It took several attempts to modify the settings (deep fill and second rinse) to provide us with a mediocre wash. The machine is noisy and vibrates a great deal. Lastly, the washer does not spin the clothes well in the spin cycle. As a result, it takes the GE dryer we bought (which does not heat to a high enough temperature) about two hours to dry the clothes. Our purchase was a mistake and we dearly miss our Samsung front loaders that we needed to replace.

Made an intermittent metal grinding sound as well. Had geek squad out to make sure it wasn’t an issue that could be fixed, but the rep was very knowledgeable and stated it’s a design flaw in the way the drum turns and creates that awful sound. That’s normal for this dryer! We work from home and cannot have that in the background. I returned it right away, and love the Samsung I was willing to pay extra for!

Bought it because it was the match for my GE washer. It sounds like a sewing machine. The medium temperature takes forever to dry my load of mixed clothing. Only one higher temperature is also the highest temperature. Nervous using that setting.
