I am glad I got rid of the Ice in the door. I like the built in water pitcher that automatically refills.

I've tried to figure out what might cause it but it seems to be random. Turning off the ice and water didn't make a difference. It's not a subtle sound, it just bangs randomly, sometimes multiple times an hour. I can't recommend this fridge to anyone with an open floor plan that might have to hear it when not in the kitchen.

Posted .We'd like to clarify some information regarding the knocking and popping sounds your unit is producing. These sounds are normal and can come from the compressor starting or restarting, cooling parts expanding or contracting during defrost, or ice being made and dropping into the ice bin. You can find additional information in the article titled "Refrigerator - Normal Sounds and Noises Made" on the GE appliances website.
Drawers hard to close!

Don’t like ice being open to whole freezer, and space seems small, even though fridge is large. Wished I’d looked at other models.

Posted .It's good to hear you think the refrigerator looks great! We'd like to assist with the drawers being hard to open. We recommend applying lubricant to specific areas of the drawers. You can use either Pure Paraffin Wax, Pure Petroleum Jelly, or Pure Mineral Oil. Please review the article titled “Refrigerator and Freezer - Lubricant” on the GE Appliances website.

Sometimes it keeps running and overflows the pitcher and water goes everywhere. I just shut it off. I was told by service rep it’s a well known problem. Well GE needs to remove the auto fill pitcher since it obviously has problems.

Unfortunately it wasn't available for 3 weeks. The chat customer service suggested a few models...not only did this one check the boxes, it was available 2 days later. Bee 6 weeks and I'm very pleased with it.
