    This dryer has been the absolute worst purchase ever. This will be the 3rd time calling maintenance on this and I’m just overwhelmed bc I’m still paying on it. Get your geek squad memberships.

    Very disappointed in the way this machine was handled also did not work upon delivery waited almost one week for delivery and then found out the warehouse lost the matching dryer

      If your dryer is no longer heating a possible cause is that a fuse is blown, or a circuit breaker is tripped. In this case, the dryer may tumble but not heat. Check the building’s fuse/circuit breaker box and replace both fuses or reset both breakers. Your dryer may tumble if only one fuse is blown, or one breaker tripped. -- If this doesn’t help, we recommend scheduling service online by visiting the GE Appliances website or by calling 833-4BODEWELL (833-426-3393) M-F 8AM-8PM ET, Sat-Sun: Closed.     At the one year mark the dryer malfunctions the lights are all n and doesn't dry the clothes well such disappointment

    I have to dry twice in order to get anything dry. Don’t hit this one either. GE should stick to making stoves and microwaves.

      We hate to hear you’re having an issue with longer than expected drying times, and we want to help. You may want to check that the ducting is unobstructed and there’s no issue with the fuses/circuit breakers (some models use two fuses or breakers, and if only one is operating that can create a drying problem). Additional troubleshooting is available starting on page 15 of the manual; if you’d like to view the manual, you can do so on our GE Appliances website when you look up the model number and go to the product page.     2 days before our delivery date we received an out of stick notice after waiting a month. We were told delivery would be and additional 5 month wait time. Horrible!

    Does not dry. Had a tech out three times with no resolution. Vent is “clogged” randomly even though it’s not.

      Hey there,

      We're awfully sorry to hear that your dryer is not drying well and can certainly understand feeling frustrated. When clothes are taking a long time to dry or do not seem to be drying, the below troubleshooting tips can correct the problem.



      Venting:

      Using the proper venting material and making sure the vent ductwork is the proper length is very important to the operation of a dryer. GE Appliances recommends the use of a solid metal vent pipe 4" in diameter for adequate operation. 4" diameter flexible metal venting may be used but will increase the drying time. GE Appliances does not recommend the use of flexible, white, plastic vent pipe. This type of vent pipe can collapse and restrict the airflow, causing lint to build up inside the dryer. This build-up could cause the heaters to fail prematurely. Consult the Installation Instructions for the proper length and number of turns for the vent pipe.

      Check for an obstruction in the ductwork. Make sure the outside wall cap or damper is operating easily. If flexible ducting is used, be sure that it is not kinked and is installed properly. It is recommended that you clean the ductwork completely at least once a year. Cleaning and Operation:

      Remove and clean the lint filter each time it is used. The filter can be washed with warm soapy water to remove fabric softener residue from the screen.

      Check the household fuse or circuit breaker that supplies power to the dryer. Make sure they are not burned out or tripped.

      There may be too many items in the dryer. Only dry one wash load at a time. Do not combine wash loads to make one large dryer load. There may be too few items in the dryer. If the machine is not leveled properly a small load may migrate to the back of the dryer drum. If drying only one item and the dryer is level, add a few similar items even if they are dry to ensure proper tumbling and distribution. If less than 5 items are to be dried, a timed dry cycle should be used for best results.

      Improper sorting can cause drying difficulty. Do not mix heavy, hard-to-dry items with lightweight items. If an electric dryer is on a 120-volt circuit instead of a 240-volt circuit, the drying time will be as much as three times longer. If you have determined that none of these tips will resolve your issue, then you may need to consider scheduling service. You can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-432-2737.     Does not deserve a single star. Dryer does not work. Have to dry things for 3 hours to get them close to dry. Have tried all settings. Don’t buy!!!
