We bought this in an open box sale and it was horrible. I’d assume it was dropped and the drum was out of line. Can’t review it as a brand new product

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. This unit does have the Smart features so you can get notifications through the Smart HQ app when connected to your Wi-Fi. The Smart HQ app will ensure your dryer always has the latest features, including extra cycles for active wear and casuals Plus, easily control and monitor your laundry from anywhere, receive remote status notifications and more. As for the noise, we would suggest checking the use and care manual that is on the website troubleshooting section (page 15) It may be that the unit is sitting unevenly. We would suggest moving the dryer to an even floor space or adjusting leveling legs as necessary until even.

one year and three months, metal inside is already rusting and a grinding sound has developed, which indicates a faulty belt or other issue. Not pleased at all.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. The stainless steel used to make the dryer drum provides the highest reliability available in a GE Appliances dryer. If the dryer drum should be scratched or dented during normal use, the drum will not rust or corrode. To clean stainless steel surfaces use a damp cloth with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner suitable for stainless steel surfaces. Remove the cleaner residue and then dry with a clean cloth. -- Regarding the noise concern, we recommend consulting the article titled “Dryer - Noises” on our GE Appliances website for troubleshooting. The one time I had to use it it was fine, wouldn work anymore after then. Don't know what the problem was. I returned it and did a upgrade.

Brand new dryer and it was making a rattling noise, had to have a technician come out and fix it. He had to take it entirely apart and found that it was manufactured with a broken part so much for quality control. The tech from Best Buy was awesome and knowledgeable, but we should not have had to call him. It was rattling on the first day.
