We'd like to assist with your new dryer's cycle time. This model has the EcoDry feature, and the cycle you select will default to this dry option. EcoDry is designed to reduce the total energy consumption of your selected sensor cycle, which means your clothes, towels, etc. may still be slightly damp when the cycle is finished. You can unselect EcoDry and select a different dryness level. Additionally, it's important that the dryer is level to ensure clothes are tumbling properly and making contact with the moisture sensors located in the lower, front of the dryer. We regret to hear about your experience. Check for an obstruction in the ductwork. Make sure the outside wall cap or damper is operating easily. If flexible ducting is used, be sure that it is not kinked and is installed properly. It is recommended that you clean the ductwork completely at least once a year. For more information, please check out our support article titled: "Dryer - Things To Check For A Venting Issue" article. Also, it is important that the dryer is level to ensure clothes are tumbling properly and making contact with the moisture sensors located in the lower, front of the dryer. If you continue to have concerns, please call GE Appliances Service at 1-800-432-2737 to schedule a service appointment to have your dryer checked.

We would like to provide guidance with this dryer. Drying performance will vary based on multiple factors such as the size of the load, the type of fabric (cottons hold more water than synthetics), the wetness of the clothes and the condition of your exhaust ventilation. Using the proper venting material and making sure the vent ductwork is the proper length is very important to the operation of a dryer. We recommend the use of a solid metal vent pipe 4" in diameter for adequate operation. 4" diameter flexible metal venting may be used but will increase the drying time. We don't recommend the use of flexible, white, plastic vent pipe. This type of vent pipe can collapse and restrict the airflow, causing lint to build up inside the dryer. We also advise removing and cleaning the lint filter each time it is used. The filter can be washed with warm soapy water to remove fabric softener residue from the screen.

We have provided some additional troubleshooting tips to help with the drying of your items in the article "Dryer - Taking Too Long To Dry Clothes or Not Drying at All" on our GE Appliances website. If these tips provided do not help, service is advised. You can schedule an appointment with a Bodewell technician by calling 833-4BODEWELL (833-426-3393).

We're glad you reached out. When the eDry button is pressed, cycle settings change to reduce the total energy consumption of the selected sensor cycle. The eDry feature will work great for those items you like to remove and hang immediately. For optimal drying times, turn eDry off.

We know a drying issue must be concerning, and we want to assist. Troubleshooting tips for what to try for a drying problem are available on page 15 of the manual, which you can view on our GE Appliances website when you look up the model number and go to the product page. Among other tips, you may want to make sure the ducting isn’t kinked or obstructed. If you’re not able to resolve this issue with troubleshooting and think service may be needed, that department can be reached at 833-426-3393. A technician would be glad to examine the dryer.
