Only slight criticism is the WiFi keeps losing connection.. hope the fix that in an update. Got it on sale and have recommended to several friends.

Looked at this unit for 2 years.. Pulled the trigger and could not be happier... Everyone loves this ice maker and the side tank makes it even better...

Well made, quiet, makes nugget ice reasonably fast and is a good looking unit in the kitchen. I haven't connected it via Wifi (why do I need my ice maker to be online again??), but I'm sure that feature will work well if needed. Highly recommend this thing.

It makes crunched ice like the kind you get at AMPM! it has a big tray for ice storage i can fill up probably about 5-7 cups full of ice. If youre thinking about this ice machine do yourself a favor and buy it!

I live with 5 family members and we go through ALOT of ice. There is always enough ice to go around! Makes ice really fast too!

We found that if we keep the reservoir filled, and keep the machine on, it regulates itself and is always making ice and ready when you want it. We have convinced other family and friends to get it too and they love it!

Posted .The Opal Ice Maker is a complex device that combines electrical and mechanical components. These components power on at different times during the ice making cycle. Typically, when an Opal starts making noises it is an indication that it is due for a descaling and cleaning. We always recommend using distilled water if you aren't already. I don't think this is 500$ Price point. We use it a lot. My husband found a way to hook up water to it. So we don't have to keep refilling the water revivor.

Used it everyday since I picked it up. My whole family loves it. So worth it. I don’t use it with the app yet so I cannot speak on how that feature is. Worth it regardless.

Have wanted this ice maker for 3 years, but so glad I waited for the newer version. The ice is amazing and will save so much money in the long run not having to continually buy bags of sonic ice. Setup was easy. Don’t hesitate to buy this machine.

Purchased a "First Build", a GE Profile first generation, and now this Second generation GE Profile Opal Ice Maker. This latest model is noisier than the prior to versions, but a sleek design.

Not sure what it is but will be making an exchange thank goodness we purchased the 2 year warranty.
