If it last two years I will be sarisfied.Any other ice makers sold by best buy are junk had one and it lasted 3 months.

I really like how it continues to make ice if it is low, and will stop making it when the hopper is full. It seems to make it fast enough to keep 3 of use in ice all day.

The ice was great, and it worked really well until it didn't. After about 8 months of ownership, it started making horrible squeaking noises. We watched some YouTube videos and tried to fix it to no avail. Still loudly squeaking. Not worth over $500 for only 8 months.

Posted .Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention. We are sorry to hear that your unit is causing a squeaking noise concern. If may be that that your unit is going into defrost mose We have found that your Opal Ice Maker Dispenser will defrost when it is needed. When your Opal needs defrosting, it may start to squeak as ice begins to build up around the mechanisms. The defrost cycle is automatic and usually takes about 10 to 20 minutes. This is a normal operation. What is not normal is if your Opal Ice Maker Dispenser is going into Defrost mode too frequently, for example, every day, or goes into Defrost but there are no audible sounds indicating that the auger is frozen. If this happens, it is highly likely the air vents are blocked. If airflow is constricted, the machine will not produce ice normally. We would suggest reviewing the troubleshooting tips for this in your use and care guide from the website here (page 14)-https://content.syndigo.com/asset/6156244d-7fe1-4d30-bf7b-ce7ecd405b25/original.pdf. If you find that after troubleshooting, you are still experiencing the loud squeaking then please review the warranty details at the same link (page 19). Dianna@GE Profile

Instead of making that drive to Sonic, we decided to have it whenever we wanted it. We love it. No connections are required. Just add water and wait a minute or so. Awesome design!

It’s hard to descale and clean, and doesn’t connect to a water line though. Not a deal breaker though… well worth it!

Pay attention to which hose to connect to the water tank. Great ice. One full hopper about every 45 min. Each hopper made 4-5 solo cups full of blended beverage.

This item was delivered to me looking like this… it was supposed to be open box excellent condition. First of all the box was not even fully closed, the ice maker was not wrapped or protected in any way. When I took the product out I noticed the water tank had water droplets in it and was cracked! Called customer service and after 30 minutes on one call and 10 on another all that was solved is I can bring it in to return it or exchange it… this should never have been sent to me like this. And the fact that I can’t talk to anyone at the store to confirm this item so in fact there so I don’t. Waste more time is absurd.

I went to the store in downtown Washington, D.C. for a pick-up order. The service was amazing, and the gentleman who helped me get the times into my vehicle was so kind and gracious, and did everything with a smile! I will ALWAYS go to Best Buy no matter where I am in the country. They are reliable. Dependable. And the quality is the best I have found.

Definitely go with this model with the side tank because pulling out the ice drawer to add water would be a drag.
