Buy once. Cry once

Finally bit the bullet and bought this one. Best one of the all 3 I’ve tried. So don’t skimp. Just buy the opal and be done.

It may kind of save you money because I’m my case, she no longer needs to buy a bunch of junk inside a gas station while she’s in there for “the good ice”.

The ice maker was purchased for my company’s Executive Management Floor and as far as I know I haven’t heard any complaints. So it looks like I made a wise purchase.

Buyer Beware Rusted Out After 18 Months Leaked
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buyer beware we purchased this 18 months ago and it leaked all over our wood floors from the bottom screws. It rusted out which makes no sense they take short cuts in something that make ice and for food safety and quality. We called them and they said no support or warranty. That’s cool because I will never buy another GE product again. We should have listed to the other bad reviews on this product. Best Buy should not support a company that doesn’t stand behind their products. This is a poor reflect on of your purchasing department to allow this defective product to be sold. There is plenty of issues out there to take action.

A Costly Mistake: When Premium Turns to Junk

Sadly, just a couple of years in and it's kaput. It's stuck in an endless defrost cycle and, despite my best efforts with online solutions, it just won't cooperate. Extremely disappointed and frustrated. To top it off, the manufacturer offers zero help since it's just outside the one-year warranty. Essentially, I've got a pricey piece of junk on my hands. My advice? Go for a cheaper option. That way, if it gives up on you after a few years, it won't sting as much when you toss it. I wouldn't recommend this product.

We have had a total of 3 in 5 years. First two we were able to replace under warranty but the last one died just after warranty expired. We were diligent in the monthly washes and really babied this thing. Unfortunately these units are guaranteed to self destruct. Not going to replace it again. Very substandard for the price.

Not happy with product or ge

Has been replace 3 times in one month. 1st made ice but when filling reservoir sprayed water over ice and melted it. Then stopped working. 2nd was shipped a used unit that had been returned. 3rd unit worked fine for a few days then started making noise then would stop. Finally the noise came back with a vengeance and could hear it 3 rooms away. Returned for full refund. Save yourself time buy something else
