This has been a great investment! It keeps the ice and makes a good amount! It does take a lot of water but getting this one with the side tank is the way to go! Highly recommend!

Had for 2 years just out of warranty, Compressor housing broke. Needs a longer warranty. Recommend an in-line filter for the water lines.

Disclaimer, I have only had this device for about a month at the time of this review. Most negative reviews I see on here are people who either got a bad machine or start having issues months down the road with whining noises, etc... So far I have not had an issue with either. Ice is made very quickly, even though it is not refrigerated, the ice stays pretty solid and the container stays full. I eat a lot of ice when i get home in the evenings. I have the schedule set to start about an hour before I get home to run until midnight and the I have it run most of the weekend. The only negative thing I have so far si the app. Doing the schedule is a pain. It does not like "overnight" schedules, even though I set it to turn off at midnight. My fix was to change it to 11:59. And the app immediately says I need to clean my device. The machine does not indicate it needs cleaned, plus its new and I just cleaned it before I started using it. I bought it knowing I had total tech and could get it replaced or return it if it starts acting up, but so far, I have no need to use it. Its running great and I love the ice it makes.

Bought it over a year ago. The wife loves me more now than before we had this. This makes the famous sonic ice as they call it. Easy to fill and easy to clean.

Best little investment and worth every penny if you don't like refilling I've trays or don't have a fridge with an ice maker. It does take up a good amount of space and cleaning it can be tedious but I absolutely love my opal ice maker

Got this for my wife, I have ended up using it more than her. Perfect for mixed drinks. Read a lot of bad reviews about how loud the machine is and that it stops working, in some cases, as soon as a couple days. It is not silent, but reasonably quiet. Gets slightly louder when it first starts making ice, then gets quieter within minutes. Runs great as of now and has not had any issues.

I like the texture and size of the ice cubes. It's great if you love chewing ice. I only had this ice maker for under a month and it's already making a squeaking noise. Kind of disappointed in that. I would expect to start hearing this type of noise at least 6 months after purchasing for the price I paid for it.

Set up was a bit confusing, but figured it out. The ice is amazing! After cleaning the 1st time, the machine started to screech very loudly. Looked at the manual and followed the process for deep cleaning, but the screeching only got louder. It is a trade off, amazing pellet ice, but it is very loud when making ice.

Makes ice just like sonic. Perfect chewable ice, all of the hype is true. Wife and kids love it. Super easy to fill and clean. Would definitely recommend to anyone on the fence about it. Ordered online and picked up curbside within an hour. Simple setup and was making ice almost instantly. Nowhere near as loud as i thought it would be, you can tell when it’s on but easy to forget about it.

What is it about women and chew ice (nuggets)? I bought this for my wife’s birthday after years of her asking for the discontinued Scottsman under-counter nugget machine. The empty GE box on the street attracted all the neighborhood house wives. Huge hit. It makes a racket and needs cleaning once a month but it is worth it. Endless Moscow mules make us the hit of the subdivision!

Love it and has made everyone in my house drink more water just to have this ice! Easy setup, self cleaning, and can be left on 24/7 as it allows the ice to melt and remake it without watering down the tank. Tank capacity also is perfect and ice is made very quickly

Love this ice maker! The ice stays cold, easy to clean machine, the ice stays nuggets if you decide to store bags in freezer. The fact that you can program it to make ice when you want is very convenient. And it does not leak or make a mess. I would highly recommend!

We love this ice maker so far. It was easy to set up and it started making ice within a couple minutes of filling up. It's not to difficult to clean. It saves us a lot of time and space not having to fill up ice trays in the freezer.

Seems expensive but well worth the money. - Easy assembly - Makes a lot of ice quickly. - Ice actually better than what you get in restaurants or convenience stores. Soft and crunchy at the same time. - Ice is slow to melt. Unlike other counter top makers which melt quickly - Makes drinks colder(don’t ask me how, may be my imagination) - Good size ice bucket. Stays full all day. - We got the black stainless which looks great on the counter top and matches larger appliances. - It’s not ugly like some other counter top ice makers. Very sleek with good lines and lighting. Yes the ice bucket has an adjustable light! Very nice feature. - if you are familiar with the large under counter ice maker (the $3k one). This is the same thing only smaller and made for the counter. - Reservoir easy to remove and fill. On the negative side: - Water drips from the bucket every time you open it to get ice. Be sure to use the drip tray. - Not in the instructions, but bucket must be securely closed to continue operation. Otherwise unit shuts off and ice melts - When bucket is full, ice making stops and does not always start again until bucket is opened and closed. Meaning when ice melts, it continues to melt and doesn’t re-fill automatically. Doesn’t happen all the time. - Uses a lot of water. I am filling the tank almost every day, Good news, it’s extremely easy to do.

Great countertop ice maker. It makes ice fairly quickly. Some reviews complained it was a bit loud but we don't find it any worse than our fridge. It is larger than I had anticipated. Admittedly I did not check the measurements before purchase. But it fits under my cabinet with about 1/2" to spare. Makes great crushed ice and refills rather quickly. Very happy with the purchase!

We just love getting clean fresh nugget ice from this machine. It makes ice fast and the ice bin is fairly large. It was a breeze to set up. It can be a bit noisy when it is defrosting and descaling but otherwise is very quiet. One of our better buys for sure.

Amazing product: easy set-up, easy to clean, begins making (the best) ice within 15 minutes. Hands down a must have for those that appreciate ice. The ice is identical to Sonic’s which is great for juice (absorbs part of juice for the slushy feel when you chew it). I put this in my Yeti in the morning and the ice is still there when I return many hours later. Push buy and treat yourself!

So far, so good. The initial cleaning was a bit much and I can't say I am looking forward to doing it once a week. I have ready many reviews that have me scared for the longevity of the product though so I will make a point to do the cleaning. The ice being produced right now is great. Love it at the moment. It is a little noisy though when it's making the nuggets.

First of all, it's cool that Best Buy proactively reaches out for a review 30 days after using an appliance. The GE Profile Opal 2.0 makes incredible ice. You cannot fully utilize the ice maker without the water reservoir however. That's essential. But to be honest, I almost returned it last week. The reservoir hose to fill the ice maker is at the same level of the machine so the water doesn't flow into the machine very easily. Continually we were shaking the reservoir and the hose to get the water to move into the machine. It actually stopped producing ice several times so I finally tried using vinegar to clean it through it's cleaning cycle. That didn't help. Then I read to unplug the machine for 4 hours and i did and since then we haven't had any real issues. I also elevated the reservoir several inches higher to help the water flow into the machine. It can be painfully quirky but if you are serious about your ice, it's worth it.
