Wanted a nugget ice machine; works good as it should!

absolute best ice maker, ge version is so much better than the nugget maker w/out ge name... i had both and its worth the extra $. Smooth corners, ice bucket can open and stay attached, buttons are better and has a light :) i can't live w/o this. I had 2 of the non GE ones... and now a GE one... life expectancy 3+ years... i hope

it makes ice quick, and is good, however it doesn't fill up to the top without pressing ice making again, and when it freezes up, which is often, it makes loud noises to defrost but was told by maker it is normal. works ok but not for me.

This maker is fantastic for small cubed ice. It makes ice very quickly and is super easy to use

Pros: Makes ice fast and the ice pieces are a perfect size! Like Sonic ice. Aesthetically, the unit looks great. Cons: When it needs to add water, you have to remove the side tank, flip it, unscrew the cap, fill it, screw the cap back on, flip it back over and then (and here is where the problem arises) you have to lift the entire thing above the unit being careful that the little clear hose doesn't come out (which every time I do this, it comes out because it isn't tight enough and then water goes everywhere. This is the only way to get the air bubbles out of the system allowing it to fill and start making ice again. This is a really bad design. I have a Keurig pot next to my ice machine and it also has a side tank. You fill it from the top therefore never needing to lift it to allow it to start using the water. I don't know why the designers of this ice machine didn't think that having an opening at the top would be much better. I will be seeking a different ice maker that isn't so cumbersome.

Love, love, love this ice maker!!! No issues. Looks and feels high quality. Produces ice very quickly and keeps on as you use it- just keep water going in, and it will keep putting ice out. I use spring water or better quality to keep it in good shape. The less build up in the machine. When you aren’t going to use it for 3-4 days, you have to drain it out so it doesn’t get stagnet. But that seldom happens.

I dont know what i would do without my ice maker, it makes ice so fast and it is very easy to use.

Was sent unit with missing parts but I was able to get a replacement but always makes a loud screeching noise. The ice is worth it.

I love it. It works great. Makes great, soft ice. It is a little noisy, but you get used to it.

Absolutely worth every penny! I love my ice machine I use it nonstop! This is by far the best purchase I have made as an adult and have no regrets or buyers remorse lol. Best Buy always had sales and they price match so you can get them at an amazing price with the protection plan which I defiantly recommend by the way! And still pay less then full price if you price match other retailers. That is why Best Buy is AMAZING!

At first it wouldnt have been 5 stars because the hose had a cut in it and water was everywhere. The whole machine was replaced and i got another brand new one within a few days. Love my ice machine. I eat ice alot and i guess companies water filter is not as clean as the water i put in my machine because it always made me sick but my ice i can eat all day.

Love the ice. The cleaning process is easy and because the ice machine tells you when it needs clean you don't have to wonder when to clean. I do wish it was made where I could put a glass under and it would fill. I don't use the side tank because it takes up too much room on the counter.

Best ice machine ever! Makes the perfect ice and very low maintenance. Blows all of the other “nugget” ice makers out of the water!

Love, love, love this ice machine. It took a little time (40 mins) for the first time to make the nuggets. After the first time it has been really fast at making ice. It makes ice like Sonic the fast food place, so if you enjoy Sonics Ice then you will definitely enjoy this machine. Pricey, but worth it.

Opal 2.0 vs Opal 1.0 just what is the difference? 1) cosmetically the stainless steel around the top has been replaced with plastic 2) The timer function was Bluetooth and is now Wi-Fi 3) the Side Tank now hold a quart less 4) the Ice storage now has a valve it keep the ice melt in while the ben is removed 5) the cooling fan has been moved to the back to reduce noise

I loved my ice machine! That is until I started having problems with it. Water was coming out of my motor a little over the year. I’m contacting customer service to see if I can get a replacement or they can fix it. It’s not fair it lasts a little time compared to other cheaper ones.

Never knew I needed this machine so much! We had a couple ice trays in the freezer that would turn into chaos whenever we had friends over, this high efficient ice maker keeps the party going! Pretty quiet for how fast it works, we upgraded to a stainless steel scooper which I highly recommend, we love that soft chewable nugget ice!
