We used filtered water from the store for the unit. Too much money spent to have it start to sound like that, so we ended returning it and buy bagged ice from sams

Bought this new version and so far it seems easier to clean, is quieter, and havent noticed any mold/slime build up. Been cleaning once a month with vinegar.

It’s almost like there is air trapped so it won’t keep going. I usually lift the tank and set it back a couple time to get the air out.
