No support or parts from GE for small appliances so it is now a boat anchor :(. Looking at other reviews here and elsewhere, avoid at all cost!

Great for Ice…But Loud and Painful

We purchased it and purchased the 2 year Geek Squad warranty just to have it malfunction and stop working 8 months later. We received a replacement and now the replacement has also malfunctioned; however, the replacement’s malfunction still technically is working it just makes a REALLY LOUD Screaming-Stretching noise that is heard day and night throughout our 4-story home. It’s as painful as hearing nails scratching a chalkboard. It is Terrible! I would not recommend!

Make sure that the hoses are properly set up / aligned per the instructions. I've had it about a month and a half and have had no problems so far. I'd suggest emptying it out if you run it for more than a few days in a row - the constant melting / ice making can give it an off taste after a couple of days. Otherwise - so far so good.

I keep getting an “add water” message about 20 seconds after I start it….even though the water tank is full. Google this before you buy and see the thousands of people that have had the same issue. I’ve replaced the filter, updated the software and even changed the pump. Nothing is working. Contacting GE is pointless because they will not help you trouble shoot at all.

Great machine for a short time

I have purchased 3 of them in the last 4 years. About 14 months is all you are going to get out of it (just outside of the warranty). I clean it with vinegar once a month and use nothing but bottled water in it but it still doesn’t last longer than 14 months. Sadly, I am going to try a different brand on the next purchase.
