Owned for 10 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This thing is fabulous when you first get it and we all fell in love with it - but i have had it 11 months now and OMGoodness what a disaster. #1 - no matter how many times you clean it, you will ALWAYS have mineral deposits in the water when you drain it and its gross (YES i use distilled and still it happens). #2 Mold will grow inside the reservoir (green and Black). #3 Im scared about the mold i cant see inside the machine - its def there! #4 and probably the MOST Impt - NEVER LEAVE YOUR HOME FOR AN EXTENDED AMOUNT OF TIME WITH THIS THING ON. You get into the mindset to treat this like a fridge, don't. We took a week long trip out of state and didn't even think about unplugging this before we left. Suddenly, on my nest camera - we heard an unfathomably loud noise. Like picture a jackhammer gouging concrete. I wish i could upload the video. It sounded like it was going to explode at any second. I actually had to take a flight back to unplug it and fly back to the destination in one day. I wish i could upload the video of this crazy noise that even our neighbors heard from outside! This thing is now the bane of my existence. Not worth the money at all in the long run. Take it from someone who thought it was the best thing next to sliced bread when i first bought it.

Dangerous

Upon further inspection, the cleaning does nothing and puts your health at serious risk. We will be in contact with GE about this, this is very hazardous, and unacceptable. Do not put your family through this, it is not worth it.

Great when it works, but stopped after 10 months.

It displays "Add Water" even though there is water in the unit. Unable to run a cleaning cycle because it thinks there is no water in it. Taking it back to the store for warranty repair. DO NOT PAY FOR THE IN-HOME EXTENDED WARRANTY. This unit is considered a small appliance and none of the contractor repair companies that Best Buy uses will repair it on site. I am trying to get a refund of my Geek Squad in-home warranty charge.

The app to make a schedule is a very nice feature. It does seem overpriced, but there are not a lot of options.

It’s small enough to fit on the counter well. And the only downside is the basket is rather small when everyone in the house wants a full glass of ice at the same time, however within 15 min or so there’s more to go around.

Great ice machine

It'll require a decent amount of maintenance as do all ice machines. Keep it clean and it'll keep your drinks cold for a long time.
