Great if you like having access to your own nugget ice instead of going to Sonic or Quick Trip. Pricy but I guess worth it

Great countertop ice maker. It makes ice fairly quickly. Some reviews complained it was a bit loud but we don't find it any worse than our fridge. It is larger than I had anticipated. Admittedly I did not check the measurements before purchase. But it fits under my cabinet with about 1/2" to spare. Makes great crushed ice and refills rather quickly. Very happy with the purchase!

It works great, I like the extra water. Ice tastes great. Perfect for soft drinks, cocktails, water, all you want to drink in the summer! It is quiet and it makes ice quickly. I do not know if it is fast enough for several people getting ice daily, but I use a lot of ice when I work remotely and it has been just fine.

My wife loves this. It makes "chick-fil-a" ice. The nuggets are chewable and great to add to drinks. The model with the extra water tank is a must or you will be filling it up constantly. I know people that have the older model without the side tank and the are not as happy.

I LOVE my machine! We have had it for almost two years and we are just now having some minor issues. It can be a bit of a pain to constantly keep it clean but it’s worth its upkeep. Everyone loves it.

The best ice maker, easy to use, fast, delicios, excellent

So far, so good. The initial cleaning was a bit much and I can't say I am looking forward to doing it once a week. I have ready many reviews that have me scared for the longevity of the product though so I will make a point to do the cleaning. The ice being produced right now is great. Love it at the moment. It is a little noisy though when it's making the nuggets.

First of all, it's cool that Best Buy proactively reaches out for a review 30 days after using an appliance. The GE Profile Opal 2.0 makes incredible ice. You cannot fully utilize the ice maker without the water reservoir however. That's essential. But to be honest, I almost returned it last week. The reservoir hose to fill the ice maker is at the same level of the machine so the water doesn't flow into the machine very easily. Continually we were shaking the reservoir and the hose to get the water to move into the machine. It actually stopped producing ice several times so I finally tried using vinegar to clean it through it's cleaning cycle. That didn't help. Then I read to unplug the machine for 4 hours and i did and since then we haven't had any real issues. I also elevated the reservoir several inches higher to help the water flow into the machine. It can be painfully quirky but if you are serious about your ice, it's worth it.

Amazing product: easy set-up, easy to clean, begins making (the best) ice within 15 minutes. Hands down a must have for those that appreciate ice. The ice is identical to Sonic’s which is great for juice (absorbs part of juice for the slushy feel when you chew it). I put this in my Yeti in the morning and the ice is still there when I return many hours later. Push buy and treat yourself!

I love my nugget ice maker. I like its design and It is small enough to fit on my counter. Unfortunately, it requires weekly sanitization and cleaning every 2-3 weeks and has a filter that needs to be changed periodically.

Just amazing!! Worth the price!! The ice chips are soft and just perfect to nibble on. The ice maker reminds you when it needs to be cleaned, which makes it super easy for busy people. The cleaning is super easy. Highly recommend!!

Great little ice maker. If you are looking for a nugget ice maker, this is a fantastic little machine. Need the side tank to keep ice bucket full. If you stay on the cleaning and use filtered water the machine works perfectly.

Love, love, love this ice machine. If you owned the first one, this new one has loads of worthy improvements. It's faster to start up. It keeps the ice frozen in the bin longer. There are more fans cooling the system, but crazy enough, it's actually quieter. The water tank is a great improvement if you weren't able to get that add-on for the original. Love the good ice, can't ever go back!

I love this. I am on dialysis and was spending so much money buying bags of nugget ice from Sonic. This is really good to have in the house and has paid for itself already less than a year later. I just wish it came with filters but we put filtered water in it. And you have to be sure to clean it weekly but no more than every other week because mold will build up.

Makes very good chewy ice. Expected a little more for the purchase price but it does what it’s supposed to.

I purchased this ice maker because we always had issues running out of ice. We are a family of four and use a lot of ice with our drinks and the ice maker in the fridge could never keep up. My wife had seen the Tik Tok videos and had mentioned she wanted one so I broke down and bought one without doing any research, wish I had looked into it better. The good: it makes ice fast, it takes about 15 minutes to make a full bin. It makes nugget ice, which my wife and the kids like It looks pretty good on the counter The bad: it has to be cleaned quite often, usually in my house about every two and a half weeks. Cleaning it involves leaving the machine with vinegar for 18 hours, which means you spend a day and a half without being able to use it. GE states that depending on where you live cleaning has to be done about every two weeks to once a month. The ice bin is not refrigerated so at night when not in use ice melts which means when you wake up in the morning about a third of the ice has melted. Cleaning involves using a bit more than a half a gallon of vinegar and lots of water to rinse out, this thing can get expensive to clean. Overall if I had to do it again I would do more research. I can’t believe all the ice nuggets maker in the market have such a tedious cleaning process. I have also seen other brands which are much cheaper so I’m not sure the difference but this machine is not cheap and neither is the upkeep. Before you buy this thing make sure you are ok with the cleaning process.

This was a gift. My daughter’s family loves it. Quickly makes ice. Just the right size. Fits nicely under the cabinets. Just in time for summer!

Unit worked flawlessly right out of the box. Easy to set up and just fill the side container with water. Makes perfect very small cubes of ice. ICE cools off drinks quickly and if you like too its very easy to eat the cubes. The only downside is its expensive but I figured within a year we would have recovered cost from buying bags of ice from the store.

I had been wanting an Opal since they first came out, but I knew the first generation had some issues, so I waited. This 2.0 version is great, and having the extra water tank makes refilling it so much easier. Less noisy than my old ice maker, programmable on/off times, no drips, what else could I want? The whole family has now converted to using nugget ice, although I bought this just for me.

Great ice maker if you like the same little cube it is an ice maker for you. But there no function to change to make different cubes. But it is a little pricey.
