Best nuggett ice machine hands down. Love the wifi option! I can turn it on ad we return home from a short trip. So convenient! Add in that it's so much quieter than our last ice machine. You cannot go wrong.

I bought this ice maker for my wife's birthday. She was really wanting an ice maker that made that Sonic ice. We were also looking at the cheaper ones that made the hollow bullet-style ice. We stayed at a VRBO that had one, so we got to test it out. It was okay, but definitely not Sonic ice. The price for this unit made the decision tougher, but the return policy that Best Buy has made it easier, knowing that I could return it if we didn't like it. And then we did the 18 month, no finance charges option for payment. We ended up buying this unit and are we are glad that we did! We love this ice maker and use it all the time. Infact, when the wife leaves for work, she fills up a gallon size ziploc full of this ice to take to work with her for the drinks throughout the workday. I haven't had any issues with it at all and its fairly quiet. The initial set up took a while with the cleaning cycles. But overall, a great purchase and we are glad that we bought it.

I love this ice maker, it makes up to 3 lbs of little nugget ice cubs. It works great. Easy to use. Perfect for summer or all year long.

We love this ice maker. The ice is delicious and the machine is very efficient. As the ice melts in the machine, the ice maker recycles the melted water and makes more ice. The machine makes a humming noise but the quality of ice far out weighs the hum. Super easy to clean too.

The opal ice maker is expensive but it does give you delicious chewable ice that is about 1cm square. The nuggets are delicious. I do wish you could hook up directly to a water line instead of continually filling up the side tank. Setup is easy and very straight forward. Go on YouTube and you can find a video that provides 3D print files to allow you to setup a water line directly to the unit. The ice stays for a long time until you make a few cocktails.I do like that it is somewhat portable although it’s large to some. Fits on the countertop great and matches my matte gray cabinets.

Extremely easy to use and works flawlessly upgraded from the 1.0 so I could have a bigger ice capacity and faster ice creation!

Worked great and made amazing ice for 10 months. We regularly cleaned it and only used filtered water. About 11 months in, it began taking longer to make ice. Now, at 11.5 months, it is making the most horrendous, grinding and squealing noises. The only way to stop it is to unplug it for a few seconds. It then stops, but it starts making them again in a couple of hours. Bad unit, or VERY expensive junk?? Whichever it is, it needs to be fixed, because $500 is too expensive for this thing not to last several years (especially when we clean it often and only use filtered water!!)

Bought last August. Worked fine until October when it started showing add water. I had a full tank. I kept unplugging it for 30 minutes then plugged it back in and aftet awhile same thing happened. I called GE and they won't do anything. For what I paid for this machine, it should have lasted longer than 3 months. I won't buy another GE product again. I have read other people that have the same problem.

Much improved over the 1.0 version we had.. i loved it until i hated it. So far this one seems well built and i love the side tank for refills. Made ice quick, and of course we LOVE this ice... so giving Opal one more chance!

This ice machine is awesome! Was it spendy? Yes. Was it worth the price so my addicted to eating poop ice wife is happy? DEFINITELY! The setup was easy. Just takes a little time. The packaging was surprisingly substantial to protect the ice maker. Didn't expect to find wood panels on the top and bottom. It made ice within just a few minutes and we have yet to run out. All i can say is make sure you ONLY put distilled water in it. Love the color we chose. The stainless is a classic color. The LED light is a real nice touch. When snagging some ice in the dark and it almost makes it glow. Also, like that we can take it with us in the RV and have ice any time. It will hold a full gallon of water. Fill the side reservoir, add some water to the tank the resevoir sits in and then dump the rest in the reservoir under the ice bin. I highly recommend this ice maker!

This ice maker is a great compliment to regular freezer made ice cubes. It makes ice instantly at a pretty rapid pace. I wouldn't use it as my main ice maker since my family uses a lot of ice. It fits perfectly on my countertop under my cabinets.

Makes ice fairly quickly, no problems with it at all. It does have a small noise while it’s making noise, not very noticeable. But that’s expected. A little on the pricey side but it is very high quality appliance.

Love, love, love my chic ice maker. Easy to use and makes nice soft ice chips. Great for parties and every day use.

Love it! My kids eat the ice all day long. Only complaint would be that when it’s making the ice, which is almost all the time it can get a little noisy.

This is the best ice machine out there. If you like soft nugget ice this is the machine to get. Yes, it’s pricey but it’s worth it if ice is important to you

This is the second Opal we have owned. The ice is great nugget ice. Ice is made fast enough for a standard family or small gatherings. With the attached reserve tank it needs to be refilled about once a day or less. Absorbs the flavor of drinks well and easy to chew.

Love it! The side tank is a must. Overall a bit pricey. I use filtered water and it makes great ice in short time and keeps up with my family.
