The ice was great when fresh. The machine itself was super loud and very hot. My aunt has one without the issues my unit had. I feel like mine may have been a returned unit and/or just a fluke. Her unit works well and always has fluffy ice. It's a treat we looked forward to when we visited her and decided to get our own.

Great additional Ice maker. The Nuggert ice is great with any drink and even by itself. Machine is easy to use.

Well I loved this ice maker and the nugget ice is the best!!! But there are flaws with this machine. First it is sooo loud. Making the ice is loud. Other times the defrost mode makes the machine scream/squeak so loudly. Also this machine needs to be cleaned out on a regular basis per the instructions. This includes draining it and cleaning with bleach. I wanted to love it but had to return it. I hope they improve the technology or offer nugget ice in refrigerators. For now it’s back to Chick-fil-A

I don’t like reviewing electronics until at minimum of the first year… in this case this ice maker failed at the 2year mark.. of course out of warranty and in this item I didn’t purchase the extended warranty as I signed up for the Best Buy program at a later date. Been difficult to get repaired have calls into several repair companies including GE waiting to here back. Priced too high for only two years of use.

I even tried a $4000 commercial follet ice maker and it doesnt compare to the soft chewable ice the opal makes. Get the warranty, even using water that goes through a whole house filter and then a reverse osmosis and thennn my refrigerator filter…i still got enough buildup to need the warranty replacemet about every year. But best buys warranty process makes it easy. I get a gc to buy a new one and the net cost for me is the cost of the warranty each year since the gc doesnt cover the cost of a warranty on the new unit i buy each time

I purchased this nugget ice maker after the ice maker in my fridge no longer worked. I was sick of buying ice and needed a solution. I am an ice chewers so nugget ice made the beat sense as less impactful on teeth. the ice make is easy to use and makes ice quickly. I turn it on after work and trum off before I go to bed. I put the surplus ice in a freezer bin to use when needed. I am very happy with the ice maker. No issues but wish the container kept the ice frozen so would not need to put excess in freezer.

Great little ice maker and no cold water line hook-up! But it is a little expensive. AND the latest version 2.0 - not sold on Amazon - added wifi so programming it was a breeze. Now it is only on when we need it.

Nugget ice is the best ice and this is a sweet little maker. Really easy to use and cranks out the ice.

I love the ice. Although it was a little pricy, it was easy to set up and had ice on 20 minutes. The extra side tank was worth it as i eat ice all day long.

IceMaker worked great, until it didn't - stopped making ice, and started making large noises after about 10 mos. Good news: It was still under warranty. Bad news: I've been dealing with OnPoint Support (Opal's support and service warranty provided) to get a replacement unit shipped for more than 2 months, and though they've agreed to replace (exchange) it, they haven't yet been able to get it shipped. Terribly frustrating. Had it not bee for this very poor support experience, I could have rated the machine a 5 - if you like this shape of ice, it's the best!

This ice maker is amazing and it keeps up with 5 adults. Some reviews state that it is noisy, but honestly, it doesn't bother us when the TV is on. I would definitely recommend this one! Easy set up and easy to fill water reservoir.

My wife wanted this ice maker after her sister received one for Christmas. Finally pulled the trigger and picked it up for her. We drink a ton of water and love the pellet ice. It starts making ice in about 10 minutes and within an hour you’ve got plenty of ice for several peoples drinks. The only drawback is that The ice starts melting immediately in the bottom of the ice bin. It has a drain that lets the melted ice water drip back into the water reserve. It makes ice faster than it melts and will quickly fill up the ice bin. When you transfer the ice to the freezer it will turn into an ice brick, so it’s not ideal for trying to make a lot of ice for a party or event…

Love this ice maker. This is the 2nd purchase. It is rather expensive for the issues that you will encounter though. I have had to exchange this one twice in the first 2 weeks. One leaked the other was making loud noise. The one I have now is working great. Make sure to keep filtered water going through it not straight tap and it will last for years. Otherwise plan on it having issues within a year.

I love this ice maker. It is perfect. I’ve had it for several months and I have nothing bad to say about it. Buy the one with the side tank, it’s worth it 100%

Easy to use, clean and maintain to make ice! Really good for crushing for smoothies and other iced drinks! Keeps up very well too.
