Best Ice Maker on the Market

The GE... While a higher price point... Is well worth it. It is quieter, more efficient, and makes ice that is the perfect pellet size. No more stopping by the convenience store or Sonic for ice!

Posted .Please make sure you are allowing 4" of air clearance on all sides and back of the ice maker. Also, follow the instructions in the online Owner's Manual for sanitizing and descaling your ice maker when the "Cleaning" indicator begins to flash. It is not normal for the ice maker to continuously make a loud screeching noise as you've indicated. For additional questions or concerns, please contact Opal Support by calling 1-866-907-6718.

Recommed you putchase the Geek Squad 4 Year protection as you will likely need it. This one lasted two years and was just replaced with the newer model,

It works well for a family of 4 and if we need to stock up, we can bag it and put extra in the freezer. The only thing about this ice maker, which may be a common thing with all of them, is the grinding sound it makes while it is in ice making mode. You wouldn't notice it much if a radio or vent were on in the kitchen, but it only make the sound when it is refilling the ice bin.

Pro's : makes ice quickly and with good consistency, just like getting "Sonic" ice, inexpensive compared to a full-size machine... and the unit has solid construction (not lightweight) Con's : took a few minutes to set-up and run through the initial cleaning, ice storage bin is very small, and the water reservoir needs to be refilled frequently

We recently bit the bullet and I am so glad we did. It makes ice super quickly and, although the product isn’t a freezer in itself, the ice keeps for a while. If you like nugget ice, this is a must-have.

Great Ice Maker

I have only had one issue with it where I had to return it. That is loud noise that it would make when making ice. I returned it to Best Buy and bought another one. The one I currently have works amazing.
