Ice is just as described Sonic ice quality. 5x more pricey than the bullet cube competitor but exceeds ice production hands down over those bullet ice machines. I invested in the extended warranty just as a precaution. I’ve read about the poor reviews for the opal 1.0 version but so far this 2.0 version is pretty solid

Great Ice Maker

I have only had one issue with it where I had to return it. That is loud noise that it would make when making ice. I returned it to Best Buy and bought another one. The one I currently have works amazing.

Posted .Please make sure you are allowing 4" of air clearance on all sides and back of the ice maker. Also, follow the instructions in the online Owner's Manual for sanitizing and descaling your ice maker when the "Cleaning" indicator begins to flash. It is not normal for the ice maker to continuously make a loud screeching noise as you've indicated. For additional questions or concerns, please contact Opal Support by calling 1-866-907-6718.

I live off of ice water and can drink more per day with how well this unit works. I even have my whole family drinking more water then they normally would since its so easy and plentiful. This is my second purchase of this Ice maker as a gift for a friend.

Buying first and now 2nd ice maker

Used it everyday and cleaned it regularly, but it broke in late Oct 2022. Error was to add water and could never get it fixed. Waited till Dec 2022 to purchase a new one since we had replacement plan (a must have for this product).

I literally had to get bags to start bagging it up! Well worth the money if you’re a ice lover....I’ve even mad Margarita ice bites to place into mixed Drinks lol. Don’t forget to get the extended warranty, a great 4 years investment. I wouldn’t rethink buying again. P S....... it did take a while to start making ice, I even thought it wasn’t working. But soon after it was.... & everytime I turn it on, it takes less than 10mins to start.
