Ice is delicious and I love that I can use the app to set the times for it to be on. Makes ice quickly and is relatively quiet for what it is. We were going to replace an undercounter ice maker with a nugget version, but this was a much better value.

Works well, we are able to connect it to our phone and set up an on and off schedule that fits our life for when we need ice or not. The side tank is a game changer though, I would highly recommend buying the one with the side tank. It does need a good cleaning and regular cleaning. But even that is pretty easy.

Awesome ice maker - Sonic replacement

We have not been back to Sonic since we bought this ice maker. The ice is perfect and even though everyone loves the ice (this ice maker keeps up with our demand)

While the price tag is a little flinchy, if you look at commercial versions of pellet ice makers, this one is a bargain. Its been running for several weeks now and it has been running like a champ.

GREAT BUT NOT SO GREAT

Now it makes noises on its cleaning cycle that are so loud we are forced to shut it off which of course keeps it from making Ice .. Working through Best Buy now to exchange it. I will say that before It was 5 stars accross the board!!

Disappointing

The ice was great, and it worked really well until it didn't. After about 8 months of ownership, it started making horrible squeaking noises. We watched some YouTube videos and tried to fix it to no avail. Still loudly squeaking. Not worth over $500 for only 8 months.

Posted .Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention. We are sorry to hear that your unit is causing a squeaking noise concern. If may be that that your unit is going into defrost mose We have found that your Opal Ice Maker Dispenser will defrost when it is needed. When your Opal needs defrosting, it may start to squeak as ice begins to build up around the mechanisms. The defrost cycle is automatic and usually takes about 10 to 20 minutes. This is a normal operation. What is not normal is if your Opal Ice Maker Dispenser is going into Defrost mode too frequently, for example, every day, or goes into Defrost but there are no audible sounds indicating that the auger is frozen. If this happens, it is highly likely the air vents are blocked. If airflow is constricted, the machine will not produce ice normally. We would suggest reviewing the troubleshooting tips for this in your use and care guide from the website here (page 14)-https://content.syndigo.com/asset/6156244d-7fe1-4d30-bf7b-ce7ecd405b25/original.pdf. If you find that after troubleshooting, you are still experiencing the loud squeaking then please review the warranty details at the same link (page 19). Dianna@GE Profile

I love eating ice and this is my favorite kind. I had another ice machine with the bullet ice but it seemed to melt very quickly (possibly because of the hole in the middle) leaving my drinks watered down. This never happens with this ice. It’s chills fast and melts slow.

Wish it had a freezer to keep ice frozen. Clings with other ice when removed for storage to freezer. So ice pick is needed when taken from your freezer.

WIFI setup is clunky and slow but works fine. Mostly you set it and forget it so not a real issue. The upgraded filter we bought makes it so it doesn't circulate ice from the side tank, and the ice bucket leaks a lot. Otherwise great.

It hardly runs out of ice. It makes drinking anything from ice water to soda a pleasure. I sits on the counter next to the refrigerator. It’s pretty much quiet I would recommend it to everyone.

I drink way more water now and enjoy the crunchy texture of the ice. Only complaint is a design flaw; when you open the drawer that contains the ice, condensation that builds on the bottom of the drawer falls onto the drip pan (which is probably why they provide one).

I have it in a butler’s pantry next to my kitchen so I do not notice noise, but the ice it makes is fantastic (soft and chewable, think Chick Filet ice). We are a family of 3 so more than enough for us. So very happy with this purchase. Expensive but worth it in my opinion
