If it wasn’t for Best Buy’s protection plan, I’d buy something else. The last two squealed terribly bad. And now this one needs to be sanitized every five days; which seems ridiculous. I spend more time sanitizing the ice make than i do using it. I think it’s time for me to move on from this very expensive ice maker and find something of higher quality. Very disappointed in the product, extremely satisfied with Best Buy’s service.

Returned due to screaming noise

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Returned within 48 hours as upon running the pre-use sanitizing and evetything and the it starting to make ice, it statted screaming loud enough to be heard outside the house. Turned it off, waited an hour and turned it back on. Within 10 minutes the scream was back. I owned an older model Opal for 6 years and never had an issue. The new ones seem to have some inherent problem with this issue.

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So far so good, produces a LOT of ice in a small amount of time, not too noisy we have it in our bar room and its nice to be able to turn off and on from the app. Overall seems to be doing a great job - will also only be using distilled water to hopefully limit the amount of cleaning required. Works great but overpriced in my opinion.

It makes ice super quick and keeps it cold, unlike the others I’ve had. It might be on the pricier side but I think it’s worth it. No problems so far. And you can control it with your phone if you need to.
