Good: very quiet operation, okay for re-heating food, nice looking. Bad: expensive for what you get, under powered (cannot even cook popcorn)

Purchased as direct replacement for a 2004 GE Spacemaker II (JEM25BF001), 1200W, 11" turntable, that fit perfectly in the 24" space between cabinets. This model's door binds in a 24" space and requires 24-1/8" to open the door. Also discovered mounting holes requires a new mounting kit (extra $100) and more holes in my cabinet. This model (PEM31DFBB), 800W, 9" turntable is overpriced just because it is a built-in. Luckily I was able to return it. Bought a stainless steel shelf and better microwave instead (Sharp 1000W).

The product arrived damaged and should have been reduced in price. It was supposed to be an "open box" with no cosmetic damage. That was not the product that was received. Take a look at the picture to see the obvious dent on the upper left edge of the microwave. Microwave works fine, although it is louder than I expected.

after 6 months started sparking and giving weird symbols on screen...immediately unplugged the microwave...waited 10 min plugged back in and did not work. asking for a replacement...purchased this model because it was a replacement for our other same sized model we purchased when we built the house 20 yrs ago

This product dos t offer sufficient time to return I purchased this microwave and waited over three weeks for my kitchen to arrive and be installed and when we unpacked it realized that it was dented in two places and ghat the warranty is only 30 days So definitely open your box and test hour microwave as soon as it arrives

We bought this microwave to replace the JEM31SF we had for 17 years! Our microwave was installed in the cabinet so it was almost impossible to find one that fitted exactly. The measurements were different but the installers made it work with some adjustments to the cabinets. The door opens all the way with a little bit of a push, because the space is a little too short, which is honestly fine. The microwave is great and we are happy! It is super quiet and is powerful.

Great small microwave. This microwave is perfect for our families quick cooking needs. The depth was perfect to fit as a part of our cabinet, saving counter space.

This is a review for the microwave as installed UNDER COUNTER. Screws go through cabinet directly into four threaded mounting holes on top of microwave. No hanging kit or brackets used. Purchased from Bestbuy Sept 2019. Replaced 16 year old Spacemaker II. Pros: -Microwave 24-Inch width almost fits 24" under-counter width. -Unit is easy to use and seems to do well with 800 watts -Oven is not unattractive but for price I would expect less cheap looking stainless appointments. -Was able to use previous oven's 10-32 screws for direct mounting. Cons: -Need to leave a 3/16-inch gap on left side because corner of door will gouge finished cabinetry. Oven then protrudes 3/16" on right side. See photos - No mounting template provided. This is wrong. - Four top mounting threaded holes do not align with older unit holes. Hole locations are in AU measurement system (Arbitrary Units). Please GE - just use English or Metric units and integral values. - One or more holes in your cabinet will be close but not close enough requiring a dowel to fill the old hole(s). - Transferring hole locations to cabinet is very difficult. I made a cardboard template the size of the oven. Made many repeat measurements and transferred drill locations to template. Then stuck very small drills through template to confirm engaged top of oven. Then mounted template to cabinet underside with staples and drilled through the four tiny drill holes. Started small then worked up to 1/4" final hole size. -This took better part on a whole day to install. To install 4 ding dang screws.

This purchase was to replace a GE Profile built-in microwave. It is one of only a few offered in this size, which is 1.1 cubic feet. This is the third one in 16 years. The first one lasted 11 years and the second one only lasted 5 years. I hope this one lasts longer! The look is updated slightly with a touch sensitive control panel that frankly, requires more of a harder push than the predecessor. The inside circular glass rotating tray is about 1/2 an inch smaller in diameter than the old one. The paint on the inside looks like it may be a bit higher quality than the old one, which started peeling and flaking from the top after only a couple years of use; this flaw has been reported by several people on the reviews section of the GE website so our hope is that this higher quality-appearing paint will indeed stay viable and not peel or flake off. Otherwise, the oven seems to be a high quality unit and to be honest I felt there was not much of a choice to pick a different one mainly due to the opening it had to go in. If I had more counter space I would get a larger one for sure, especially at this price, but sadly I don’t have that option. If you don’t mind spending more than you have to or like me you are stuck because of opening constraints, then my feeling is you will do okay with this oven,

This is a replacement for a 20 year old GE Profile Spacemaker II over counter/built into an over counter cabinet Microwave that became increasingly unreliable over the last 5-10 years, requiring unplugging and re-plugging in to reset the electronics and allowing it to work. It was very difficult to find a 24 inch wide under cabinet replacement. It was quite expensive, about 4 times as much as a respectable counter-top unit. There was no instruction book or installation instructions, except a generic/non model specific microwave pamphlet. It referred to an installation document which was not in the box and not exactly able to find on the internet. Installation was very time consuming because they moved the top-of-the-unit screw holes positions, and they did not enclose a paper template. I did not want to pay a significant amount more for a mounting kit with machine screws and load-distributing mounting bars, since I had all I needed from the prior unit, except the paper template. (One of the mounting bars screw holes were a couple millimeters off, but I safely repurposed it). When installed, it works very well. It is quieter than to old unit, and seems mechanically very solid. We do not care for the placement of buttons on the control panel. We think they are not placed intuitively, but we are getting used to them. I am not sure the energy delivered is accurate in the less than about 6 seconds range on the timer when I am trying to bring a food temperature up a few degrees for very special purposes. We are hoping it lasts for a long, long time!

I love my new microwave. It fit perfectly in the wall opening. I was able to use the frame that I had on my old oven of the same brand.

This microwave has a specific use as a built in. With the hanging kit it fits under the top kitchen cabinets and only works well if you have some short wall cabinets so you can still have useful counter space below. If you just want a microwave to sit on your kitchen counter don’t buy this.

Great microwave and it fit my microwave built-in box space very well. It's very easy to use. My only complaint is the button that is pressed to open the door is stainless and always has fingerprints on it! Obviously, I'm picky about that but otherwise it is a great buy!

Great to be able to install this under our cabinets! Really frees up counter space in the kitchen. This microwave is easy to use and was pretty easy to install. Great for our family's daily use.
