Decent unit but not worth the price.

Even at 40% off when I bought it, it has no outstanding features to warrant the expense, its a basic unit with a "Profile" tag. I would expect better construction of the shelving accessories and fit and finish. Shelves and drawers feel flimsy and cheap and the drawer deviders are useless. The water fill sensing is slow and inaccurate as well as the flow from the fill is slow. It will randomly fill the same cup to different levels. It throws ice shards all over the floor, even if you hold the cup up against the dispenser. The interior lighting is nice and even. The exterior looks good. Fairly quiet operation. Its not a bad unit, just not worthy of a 2600 dollar price tag. FYI platic wrap took days to remove, its under every panel overlap, door edge and accessory and leaves plastic exposed so that it takes tweezers to remove.

Great looks & layout, but the compressor is loud.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the looks and the layout, but the compressor runs a lot, and that would be fine with me if it didn't make such a loud hum that travels through the house. I guess someone "could" get used to it over time, but at the price and the technology we have today, GE can do much better! My 15 year old refrigerator was close to silent and this is noticeably louder. Otherwise I loved it, so I had GE come out and look at it and they can do nothing saying this is the way are today due to the low power consumption, lack of insulation to keep them lighter, and new refrigerants they need to use. What a lame excuse for the lack of innovation or simple sound insulation. I'd seriously consider another brand if you have an open house. It will likely be great if you have a small isolated kitchen that buffers the humming.

This GE Refrigerator Exhibits Design Flaws/Defects
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Follow-up review: First unit leaked water from the water dispenser spout (slow drip); auto fill did not always fill up to the top of container as it should have; had a broken gear on the freezer drawer; froze our food in the refrigerator (set to 37F; our thermometer check noted 26F). Best Buy installed a second identical unit N/C after this freezing incident. Second unit exhibited the same slow drip behavior. Geek Squad tech told us this should not happen. While the first unit required 5 repair visits in the first month of ownership, the second unit took only 5 days until it, too, froze our refrigerated food (again set to 37F; our thermometer check noted 26F). Best Buy replaced this second refrigerator with one from LG (our choice), never charged us a dime extra, even honored a price match on this one AND almost two weeks later no problems whatsoever! So while we highly recommend Best Buy (they worked with us through all of these hassles), we cannot recommend GE (caveat emptor!). This appears to be a design defect, so good luck to anyone who owns this model!

WORST FRIDGE EVER!!!!

GE sends a tech and tech determines a new fridge should be sent out. New fridge is delivered Aug 2022 (annoying wait, but whatever). It breaks in Jun 2023 and completely stops working. GE sends another tech in Jul 2023 and says it’s the compressor. Orders the parts and says I’ll be back in 3 weeks. Compressor replaced 8 hours ago and it’s already buzzing again. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Counter-depth was a requirement for where this fridge was to be located and we couldn't be happier with the fit. Mostly high-end look and finish, but the interior plastic could be of a higher quality.

Loud!

We purchased the one that has the kerig system and is now taking another month to receive. My husband was here for delivery and didn’t realize it was not the correct one. Now we are stuck with this one for awhile and it is so loud! You can hear it throughout the house and it’s driving me nuts. I am considering possibly cancelling my other order and going with something else. I hope that we just got a lemon but who knows. I like everything else about this fridge but I can’t handle the noise. It’s going to be an annoying Christmas!

The new refrigerators are more energy efficient and sound differently than older refrigerators. If your refrigerator is not three-fourths full, then we recommend adding gallon jugs of water to take up the empty space as this will cut back the run time. So far not impressed.

First one I received from Best Buy had a dent in the door and also one door was higher than the other. Best Buy took care of the issue by replacing it with another one. Now this is one is making little to no ice. I can only fill a half a cup of ice per day which is a real inconvenience because I make a blended iced coffee drink every morning. Now I have to call the manufacturer and wait for someone to come out and fix it. What a hassle and inconvenience. Also, I purchased a total of 4 GE appliances during there rebate promotion but I never received my rebate. So far I'm really disappointed in GE appliances and there customer service.

Great looking fridge but pricey!

I think the price is too high for what it is.

Worst Experience Ever – Do NOT Buy Appliances from

I purchased a refrigerator and ever since, it’s been nothing but delays, broken promises, and a complete waste of time. First, they scheduled the delivery for a specific date, which I rearranged my whole day around. Guess what? No fridge. They don't call or email. I contact customer service, they pass me around from department to department and finally get it rescheduled. Then out of the blue I get an email from them with a new delivery date. Nothing be excuses and pointing fingers. I’ve spent hours on the phone with them, but every time I get a new story or a different date. They don’t seem to care, and their communication is terrible. It’s completely unacceptable. If you want reliable service and a company that can actually follow through on their commitments, do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. Best Buy has absolutely ruined this experience for me. No fridge, no explanation, and no accountability. This is my last time ever ordering from them. Save yourself the headache and look for a company that values its customers. Zero stars if I could.

Have spent 700 bucks on service calls and it still doesn't work. There is a 12 mo warranty though! In door water leaks so bad I had to disconnect it. Was pooling water in the base of the freezer, overflowing and ruining our floors. It appears there are no major fridge brands that offer any reasonable quality / warranties anymore, but GE certainly gets zero dollars from me going forward.

WILL NEVER BUY GE AGAIN

THE WORST PART OF MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN GE’S CUSTOMER SERVICE. ON MY LATEST SERVICE REQUEST THE TECHNICIAN NEVER SHOWED UP (EVEN THOUGH I SPOKE TO HIM EARLIER IN THE DAY TO CONFIRM THE APPOINTMENT). I SPENT AN HOUR ON THE PHONE WITH GE TO RESCHEDULE. I HAD TO WAIT AN ENTIRE WEEK. WHEN THE SAME TECHNICIAN DID ACTUALLY SHOW UP, HE SAID BECAUSE THE PART HE NEEDED WASN’T DELIVERED HE COULDN’T DO ANYTHING. I ASKED HIM TO WAIT WHILE I CALLED GE CUSTOMER SERVICE…..HE TOLD ME HE HAD TO LEAVE. I ASKED WHY HE DIDN’T SHOW UP THE PREVIOUS WEEK, HE TOLD ME “I HAD THINGS TO DO”. WHEN I ASKED HIM HIS NAME HE SAID…..”CALL GE, THEY WILL TELL YOU MY NAME”…..AND HE WALKED OUT.MY WHOLE FAMILY WAS IN SHOCK. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS. IT IS NOW 5:30 PM AND I AM WAITING FOR THE 3RD ATTEMPTED SERVICE CALL. HAVE NOT HEARD OR SEEN FROM ANYONE. THREE DAYS OF WAITING AND THREE WEEKS AFTER ORIGINAL CALL AND WE STILL DO NOT HAVE ICE OR WATER. TRYING TO DEAL WITH GE CUSTOMER SERVICE TO COMPLAIN IS FUTILE SO I AM LEAVING THIS REVIEW ANYWHERE I CAN TO WARN OTHERS. I WILL NEVER BUY A GE APPLIANCE EVER AGAIN!

Poor Quality

All were good except the refrigerator which is over priced and quality is poor. (Stick with LG). Freezer interior drawer rollers are cheap plastic and it just rolls on top of a plastic track so it comes off a lot which is very annoying. LG has luxury drawer tracks like a cabinet would have. The actual freezer drawer tracks are poor quality as well. (Same issue for frig drawers, tracks but are slightly better). Ice/Water in door is one lever combo with touch control to change back and forth unlike LG that has two levers eliminating the need for changing every time you want a drink. Finish is nice if you are like me and don't like finger print problem with stainless. Although this finish scratches easily. There is only a water filter and no air filter unlike LG that had both and GE water filters are more expensive. All in all this refrigerator is ok, but not great and considering the price, yes I would suggest LG over GE.

Faulty freezer seal

The freezer door no longer seals on the left side causing ice to form in the bottom freezer. The upper. refrigerator doors also started to squeak when opening. I wish I had not paid 3K for this refrigerator. I would not buy another one.

To check with the seal, we recommend ensuring the gaskets are properly installed. This can be done by running a pen or finger over the gasket to push it into the crevice that holds it in place. Love the look but hoping to get used to the noise

So much so that I got back on bestbuy to go over the reviews again to make sure my noise wasn't unusual. I am hoping it it quiets down as it runs or I get used to the it. And hoping the noise doesn't mean it is constantly running and my electric bill will go up.

Look Elsewhere

Three attempts later and no fridge and no advance notifications the day before of no delivery. Over a month with no delivery and now they are claiming it's on backorder, contrary to the website. It was in stock when we ordered. If you call the day before to confirm delivery, you are wasting your time.

Loudest Fridge Ever Owned

Our 9 year old GE Profile could only be heard when standing directly in front of it. This new GE Profile French Door model can be heard running over 30 feet away. We've raised the volume on the TV so we don't hear it. Very annoying. We've had the service techs out and they claim the noise is normal and no problem found.

See page 46 of your manual for the section titled “Water dispenser does not work” in the Troubleshooting Tips. It offers several reasons this issue could be occurring and instructions on how to resolve it. Your manual can be located at the bottom of the “Features” tab on the product page of the Best Buy website. -- This model does feature Interior Lighting in the freezer with 2 LEDs. Extremely noisy, runs 80% of the time

The one in the kitchen currently is the third we have had. The first they, GE, took back, the second arrived with a broken part (unpacker did it) the third is almost a carbon copy of the first- noisy, required new gaskets, motor changes,,,,, I have given up after no satisfaction. You all should note - in the showroom the units lights come on and you think 'what noise'? Well the motors are not on. Sorry GE - no more
