    Nice features but...

I like all the features that this offers. I have had this a little over a month and have had a couple issues. The first is that a metal piece fell off one of the arms. Then the arm bent making it hit the rack. I scrape and rinse my dishes before putting them in and I have had to clean the filter three times already. Also it was difficult to install. Overall for the price I am not very happy with it. I tried to write this review for GE and they responded with "While we appreciate your PDT715SYNFS review submission, unfortunately, it doesn’t meet the guidelines for posting to our site. I have clean dishes everytime we use it, whi h is daily. It has been over two years aince we purchased and installed the dishwasher and it cleans the same as whej it was brand new. My only mone stsr deduction is because the trim piece where the button are hidden has come off. The display model in the store had rhe same piece falling off, I should have k own.

    Bad install by Best Buy

It is not as functional as the Whirlpool was. But the Whirlpool was not built right and leaked with no warnings till after it buckled my hardwood floors. So this was a replacement. It does dry better than the WP. Too bad the third party installer for Best Buy managed to fit it wrong and needs to be reinstalled. They installed it knocking into the wood cabinet. They don't give you time to check the deliveries either. They run off and you have to deal with stuff yourself. They need people working for Best Buy to do the work not third parties who can care less. Just wished it had better dish placement. Not sure I trust any product that can leak now after this damage.

Dishwasher is great for drying after hand washing!

On the first use we were happy to hear how quiet the dishwasher ran, when we opened the dishwasher after the first was and the dishes were still wet. Did some research and found this would resolve if we added jet dry. So we started using jet dry! A few weeks later we noticed Residue on the dishes from the dishwasher tab which has now increased to food residue which becomes caked on the dishes after being styled. At this point dishes are being rewashes over and over again which is affecting our water bill! We sometimes take the dishes out wash them by hand and the stack them in the dish washer to dry. Very disappointed in the product.

Very quiet and the sound of water flowing is more than noise but somewhat comfortable. Silver rack is very useful especially for chopsticks. Installation was easy for DIY.

Worst Dishwasher we have ever owned

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I'm not sure how this dishwasher gets so many good reviews. In 35 years of owning dishwashers, this was the most expensive and the most hated by my wife and daughter. The first wheel assembly broke after about a week. It is awkward to load, the tine placement in the lower two racks is poorly designed, six of the wheels have fallen out, and the middle rack moves out on its own. It does not hold as many dishes as previous Maytag and Whirlpool dishwashers. And, it was a real pain to install. I've installed many dishwashers and this was the most difficult one yet. On the plus side, it is nice looking, quiet, and the top rack is nice. But nearly everything else about this thing is off.

    Door latch is not secure.

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

A couple of significant problems have made this a frustrating dishwasher to own. Since we first got it (8 months ago), the door latch has never closed securely, causing the door to pop open. So far this has not caused any disasters, but it takes several tries to get the door to stay closed so I can run it. I had warranty service to replace the door latch about 2 months after purchase, and again about 6 months later; we'll see how it goes after the second service. The dishwasher does an adequate but not exceptional job cleaning dishes. I have found that any silverware placed in the silverware holder on the bottom level does not get clean (we always clean off all solid material by prewashing everything before loading). Silverware on the upper rack does get clean, so we use the third rack exclusively and leave the bottom silverware holder empty. Generally I have found that out of each load, 5 or 6 dishes need to be washed by hand after coming out of the dishwasher still dirty. This is regardless of the setting used; even the most powerful setting doesn't get everything clean. We have to fill the upper rack no more than about half full to allow circulation, especially for bowls. The sound level on this dishwasher is approximately 55dB, not 45dB as advertised. It's still fairly quiet.

Hello- We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry for the issues you are having with your door latch and the cleaning of your dishes. We'd like to help! Please be sure your water temperature is set to 140 degrees. If your hot water heater is far from your kitchen, we recommend turning your hot water on first and then turn your dishwasher on. It is also important to press Dry Boost on your control panel and use rinse agent. We will share your feedback with our engineering and design teams. If you still have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us via a private message on social media. Thank you! Joyce@GEAppliances GE_Appliances

I have had several service calls on this dishwasher. Called again today for another. I run all cycles on the heaviest cycles and hottest water. It takes over 2 hours to finish a load and there are always dishes that aren't clean. i use the best dishwashing pods on the market too. The spinner at the top hits as it goes around and isn't quiet at all. My old dishwasher that was 15 years old worked better and more efficiently. I'm sorry I paid a thousand dollars for this thing. All the reviews are correct.

It works... but I bought it in 2020 (it's still for sale) - and I have had the motor replaced twice - once when it was under warranty, and once when it was not and had to pay $300 - so two motors in 5 years - good luck!

We were so excited for this dishwasher and it has not held up at all. Bottom rack dish holders no longer work after 2 years, wheels broken on bottom rack, the middle rack that can change heights can now only sit at its lowest setting, and the silverware rack (third rack) has pulled the water piping off the back wall. Very disenchanted.

GE sold Appliance Division in 2016. Quality gone!

Our GE DW had to be replaced 3X in three years! The 2nd one arrived with water pouring out of it. Best Buys's Geek Squad is no more & they sent out a 3rd party to fix it. The tech told us the quality has gone down considerable since GE sold appliances to Haier, a Chinese company. We were without a DW for 2 months while Best Buy tried to make an appt & then decide whether to fix it or send a whole different product. We now have a reliable Maytag.

    Not worth the money

I have an all Profile GE kitchen. The rest of the appliances are 11 years old but the old dishwasher died. I now have this machine 22 months. Cleaning is not exceptional. It takes a very long time to clean and dry (when it works). The layout is not the best for dishes. Everytime you open the dishwasher to add something you have to repress the Start button which is annoying to say the least. The first week that I had it the clean light wasn't coming on everynight. Called for a repair. They came changed "something" and it seemed to work for a while (a month or two) before it started doing it again. It wasn't every night and it wasn't exactly every other night either. I actually made a chart to see when it was happening: If it only happened when I pressed ceratin buttons, if it only happened if I had to open and then closed the dishwasher several times before it would be timed to wash, This went on and on until my husband thought I was crazy. This took a couple of months to make sure it was totally random. It WAS. They came back and they decided three parts needed to be replaced (I had to wait for all of the parts, one of which took months to come). After the parts were all here they made another appointment. It worked great for a couple of months and then it started to do it again. Just about at the end of the annual contract. Now I could blame myself for not calling again immediately or taking an extended warranty but that was a couple of hundred dollars more than the already expensive dishwasher. My husband of course said what's the difference. The difference is I will never buy another GE appliance. I would suggest you don't either!
