Great full size all in one machine!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm European, I grew up with all in one machines. I used to hate them because of the small load capacity and the bad drying performance. This machine solves both. It's really great. This let us reclaim a ton of space in our laundry room too. If one negative, you need to be really on top of all the routine maintenance.

Disappointed.
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I want to start by saying the concept is great. The machine is beautiful and I really enjoyed it for about 30 days. I have had this washer/dryer combo for long enough (10-ish months) to advise others to choose something else. The first issue started only a couple of months into owning it. The clothes were dripping wet at the end of the dry cycle. The repair man came out and said it had a clog. The lint screen does not catch all of the hair and particles from sneaking past and creating a clog. This has been a nonstop issue. Error codes pop up on the screen with the red ring of death every few days and it is a gamble on whether or not the clothes are still going to be wet at the end of the cycle. I have put a "15 articles of clothing or less" limit on each wash (which is inconvenient for a $2500 machine). I religiously clean out the lint trap, have made brush and vacuum attachment devices to clean out the lint that gets stuck in the lint screen compartment (Shouldn't have to do), drain the bottom catch every 3 washes (there is hardly ever anything in it), turn on the "more dry" setting every wash, set the spin cycle to "extra high" to help wring out the clothes before the dry cycles starts, I run the self clean cycle every 3 or 4 days, sit on the floor for what feels like hours with a pair of tweezers and pick lint and hair out of the port holes in the blue silicone ring and between the ring and the metal drum. I try to keep it as clean as possible and keep the software up to date, but I still run into the error code and a major issue with the clothes not drying. I understand that the manufacturer states to shake the clothes when they are complete to achieve the dry feeling but my clothes are more damp than just shaking dry. Sometimes i can still wring water out of them. I am not one to complain about products but this washer dryer combo has been more of a hassle than a help. I gave it a fair chance by keeping it for as long as I have but I don't want to deal with it any longer. Getting a service tech out to fix the frequent issues is a nightmare and the lead time on parts to replace is 6 weeks. The price of this unit is not holding up to the standard it should be performing at.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had such high hopes for this machine but it is a complete waste of money. I’m not sure how GE ever let this go into production with the design flaws. We have had 2 techs out within the first 10 months. The first tech did not run any proper diagnostics so we still had problems. Second tech found fault codes that have been in the system of the machine for 10 months. The first one appeared only 2 weeks after install, so we have essentially never had a properly working machine. I am going to be battling with GE for an extended warranty or completely new machines because our manufacturer warranty will expire 4 weeks after the next set of repairs which is not acceptable considering the machine has been broken since delivery. Would not recommend. This machine was not ready to go to market. It sounds amazing, but it turned out to be too good to be true. Can’t say enough bad things about our experience.

Big Mistake
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i bought this ge profile to save room and electricity. have had it for 1.5 yrs now. biggest mistake i've made on an appliance. the concept is great. but the machine is terrible. takes forever to dry. the softener dispenser don't work. my softener turned to sludge. link filter issues galore. after 4 months we had to have the heat pump replaced. and now 1.5 yrs into it. it doesn't dry. keeps having lint clogged faults. and so far the geek squad don't know how to work on it. extremely frustrating. run far away from this ge profile.

Excellent appliance with an annoying problem
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We recently purchased GE Profile all-in-one washer and drier. My wife is very happy with how it works. If not overloaded, it does excellent job just like described in the flyer. However, it makes very loud noises taking water. This “hammering” is very annoying and makes me worry about the integrity of the water pipes. I installed hammering arrestors on the supply pipes but they did not help much. We did not have this problem with our old Samsung washer and drier. Are GE engineers behind the Koreans??!
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from GE Answers
Posted .We recommend checking to see if the inlet hoses are resting against the back of the unit as this could cause the hoses to hit the back of the unit making a "hammering" sound. Position the hoses away from the unit to remedy. A "water hammer" is a problem with the household plumbing and its water pressure. As the washer's water valve closes, the force of water in the pipes can cause the pipes to rattle. We recommend consulting a professional plumber to find the root cause.
