I am mostly really happy with the machine, but the rare problems are a big hassle! I love that I can put my clothes in, push a couple buttons, walk away, and come back to clean dry clothes. So easy, so great to know the clothes will finish while I'm at work or asleep or running errands. BUT the lint filter system is poorly designed and difficult to maintain. I clean the lint filter almost every single load like I would do with a normal dryer, but that's not enough. I've also fought to try to keep the large clumps of lint behind/around the filter under control, with mixed success. Now, just over a year after we got the machine, it's no longer a set it and forget it situation - every load is still quite damp when the cycle finishes and we have to run another hour+ dry only cycle. Yesterday it took about 11 hours to get 2 loads finished and today it took over 4 for one normal size load. I'm hoping to get good warranty support, but apparently I have to pay for a service call first??? Despite my frustration, if the lint situation/drying problem is resolved, I will return to being a happy owner. Ventless is great, the smaller power requirement is great, and when it works the all in one functionality is really nice. I wouldn't recommend buying one until GE fixes the lint situation. Someone has made an after market fix, but I haven't tried it because I don't want to void the warranty.

We are on day two of this device and I would definitely recommend it. Does it take long sometimes? Yes. A load of towels may take 2-3 hours depending on the size. Is it still worth it? In my opinion yes because you can throw in a load before bed and wake up to it being dry. We saved a ton of space, the app works great, and the device looks really nice in the space. I will also say it’s very quiet when operating. I was worried about the laundry room getting hot because of the lack of the vent, but it hasn’t been an issue at all. There also seems to be less humidity given vs my old gas unit. If you can wait the 2-3 hours sometimes it’s worth it.

    So Far, So Good

I've had one for about six months now, and I'm very satisfied with it. It is almost completely automated. You put in a load, choose the settings, press start, and that's it. When it's done, the clothes are clean and dry. It has remote control from the phone app, and will send you alerts when the load is done. By having automatic dispensers for detergent and softener and washing and drying in one machine, a lot of the manual steps of doing laundry are removed. Maintenance is minimal, and not hard to keep up with, because the machine and app remind you. The only reason anyone should think twice about this type of machine from a practical standpoint is if you regularly do multiple loads one after the other. Since you can't wash one load and dry another at the same time, it will take significantly longer to do multiple loads in a row. Large families who try to wash everything in one day could have a problem with it. But if you can adjust to spacing out loads over the course of the week, it's much more convenient and hassle-free than a regular washer and dryer. The only thing it doesn't do for you is put the load in and fold it when it's done. And the only reason I don't give it five stars is because I'm waiting to see what kind of longevity it has. It's not cheap, but it does have a five year warranty. If it lasts as long as a conventional washer and dryer (which can often last up to 20 years), this is the greatest machine ever made. If it starts having issues within the first few years, it will be a failure. So far, after 6 months, I'd say it's the best thing that's happened to laundry in a long time, and I am totally satisfied with the purchase.

Overall an amazing machine. Its appearance is commanding and impressive. It is a quiet machine with both the wash and dry cycles creating little noise. If the door to your laundry room is closed you will hear no noise at all from the machine. There are some cons with the unit though. 1. We noticed that our agitator machine did a better job of cleaning. This machine is acceptable though and is by no means a deal breaker. 2. You absolutely have to use the "wrinkle care" setting or your clothes will be very wrinkled. This is especially true if you don't take your clothes out as soon as the load is finished. 3. A wash and drying cycle is longer than our agitator machine and dryer. This is especially true if you count the "load-sensing" and "cool down" times at the end of the cycle. 4. The lint collector could be better designed. After removing the lint collector there is always an accumulation of lint at the back of the lint slot that is almost impossible to get to. 5. The app shows the time of day when the load will be finished but it would also be nice if the machine showed the same information. 7. Sometimes there is water left in one of the manual trays for fabric softener or liquid blech. This causes a problem on the next load if you want to use one of the trays in that you have to remove the water before filling the tray with bleach or fabric softener. 8. There are some errors in the owner's manual. Having said all this there are so many positive features with this unit that we would never go back. Good job GE.

    Was scared but its perfect

Was scared by doing research in all in one machienes, however this model by GE i saw was my best bet. After doing a test of a wool blanket, clothes, at a medium load. It only took 2 1/2 hours. Which i was surprised about since people said it took longer with even small loads. The drying was perfectly fine, and i even read online you can do timed dry if you dont want sensor dry. It was really easy to use, and i think ill have a easy time maintaining it. Only con was it can shake side to side during the first stages of the wash (had bestbuy install it) but it was steady throughout the rest of the wash and dry. Overall this was perfect especially since we only had one spot for 1 machiene. I honestly highly reccomend this if youre looking for an all in one machiene. Also i love that theres volume controls and it lets me know when the load is done. And its way easier than you think to only do a wash, and only do a dry. Again this is a safe and highly reccomend product to go with.

GE Profile Ultrafast Combo We Love It!!!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We currently have 9 people doing laundry in our home. We had the Maytag Bravo XL washer and dryer for a few years now but have been running the dryer twice a lot to finish loads. Despite cleaning out the discharge, deep cleaning the lint trap and vents, it just continued to take longer and longer with the amount of use it received. It was great at first like most things, but eventually the electric bill was just out of control. My wife loves this GE Combo. She isn’t going to give compliments unless they are due, and she really loves this thing. We read the negative reviews, then the positive reviews and decided the positives far outweighed the negative and gave it a shot. In one review it says you need to do 8 pound loads. So far my wife has done 50+ loads in the past month and a half, and I promise you the loads are double the size of that review and we’ve had no issues. She did mention that the size loads are smaller than the Bravo XL, but only having to add the clothes to one machine, and having the app tell her when they’re done is a life saver for her. She can put a load in before work and come home to them done. Same thing with any time of the day. She told me she often had to rewash clothes due to forgetting to switch them to the dryer. Not anymore. The biggest plus in my case is it truly uses so much less water than our other washer and the clothes are still very clean. I can officially say our electric bill is about $60 less a month already and she said those 50 loads are double what she would usually do as she was catching up. So the savings will be much more I’m sure. The biggest of all is the 15 amp, 120 volt outlet. You really can run this on a standard outlet that you plug your lamps into. That’s awesome!!! I’m a huge fan. I know it’s only been a month and a half, but this thing will pay for itself in 3 years with another 7 year warranty to keep on saving. I did add an additional 5 year warranty from Best Buy for 300 bucks to cover anything that wasn’t covered by the factory warranty. The unit itself seems a little pricey at first, but when you factor in the cost of a washer and a dryer, with the electric and water you use, it’s well worth it. Absolutely thrilled!

We absolutely love this GE all in one. I have a tendency to forget clothes or sheets or anything really, in the washer and then have to rewash several times to remove the funky smell. With our GE one and done, that is a problem i dont have anymore. It remembers for me. Now i just have to find a machine to fold them too. This machine may be a little heavy, but it's a real game changer.Have i mentioned how stylish it is? I think it would look great in any room in my house and is definitely a space saver. And let me just say, your clothes will thank you. Its easy to use, saves on electricity and really takes alot of the thinking out of doing laundry. Other that "Who's gonna fold it"? Do yoyrself a favor, when its time for a new lwasher/dryer, get the GE one and done. Youll thank yourself for it.

Had it for only 1 month and so far it’s great. It dries the clothes well. Other reviews say the clothes didn’t completely dry. It’s easy to learn all the features. You just have to take time to try them out. Pros: big space saver for my small washroom. Set it and forget it is nice. It just tells me when it’s done via the app. Cons: nothing so far. If you want to keep it in tip top shape you will want to clean the filter after every load. For me that’s not a problem. Also delivery and removal from Best Buy was easy and smooth.

Love, love, love this thing! We are a family of 6. At first i though it would be too small, but man this thing can fit a lot of clothes in it. I put a load in before i go to bed and its done when i wake up. I put another load in before i go to work and its done before i get home. Takes about 2 hours per load. Ive had it for less than 24 hours and am almost caught up on laundry!

Wanted badly to love this but it just seems to have a lot of issues. YES it's great to not have to remember to switch over the laundry. YES it's awesome to have an electric ventless so it can be put anywhere in the house. But... 1- it rarely dries clothes all the way... you have to take them out immediately when the dry cycle finishes and shake them out to fully dry. This defeats the purpose of not needing to remember when the cycle will be done lol. 2- The lint trap is REALLY difficult to clean completely. 3- the water valve/drainage thing in the back needs monthly maintenance as small clothing can get stuck and back it up (socks, etc) 4- the time is WAY off on the cycles. It will say 28 minutes left and proceed to take literally 2+ hours

Your feedback is important to us and are sorry to hear that you’ve been less than impressed with some of the features on your Combo unit. We appreciate that you took the time to leave us this detailed review. We would like to help with some guidance Regarding your clothes not drying fully. If your clothes are still damp, we do recommend using the "More Dry" option when possible. Another important factor for both the wash and dry cycle, is making sure that your combo is connected to the network and that the most recent software update has been downloaded. Like a traditional dryer, you will not be able to clean 100% of the lint from your Combo. The Combo is designed and tested to ensure great drying performance, even if there is a considerable amount of lint buildup. We do suggest following the cleaning tips that’s included in the use and care manual (page 19) that is also found on the website. regarding the dry time. The load's moisture content (which is defined by the washer spin speed and the type of load), combined with the load size, the temperature selection and the house venting conditions determine the dryer cycle time. If we can help with anything else regarding your combo unit feel free to reach out to us on any of our social media pages. Dianna@GE Profile GE_Appliances

Would have given it a 10 if I could. I named her Rosie because iwhat else do you call something that is practically a robot that does your laundry. We are terrible about forgetting to put laundry in the dryer. Just put the clothes in and she does the rest. Clothes are even cleaner because the automatic dispenser uses the correct amount of detergent. I get notifications on my phone letting me know when the load us done and I can check the time left and even control it from the app. It tells you when to clean the filters and even has a self cleaning feature. If you read the manual and follow the directions you will love it. This is not your average washing machine, you need to learn to use it. It’’s worth the read.

I was so worried that I chose the wrong machine!

I was so worried that I chose the wrong machine! When I started my search for an all in one machine the GE wasn't even on my radar. I was trying to choose between the LG and the Samsung and was leaning towards the Samsung. When I physically went to see them at home Depot the salesman tried talking me in to the GE and when I compared the look of them alone I thought the Samsung actually looked cheaper. The GE was quite stylish and I liked everything except the bright blue silicone liner around the door. It still bothers me today because it traps lots of gunk and needs to be wiped clean after each use imo. I then had to make a quick decision because there was a sale ending. All 3 machines were on sale for the same price and I jumped on the GE and prayed I wasn't making a mistake. The delivery date was a week away and I stressed out it the whole time. I started reading people's reviews and everyone had issues with the drying of all the machines. And the GE actually says in its booklet that clothes may be damp when done and I lost all hope. At $2k for a machine it should fold and put your clothes away for you. Well I can say that this machine is wonderful. Everything dries wonderful. I did need to mess with settings and find my sweet spot and I am so happy. It's a beautiful machine and I definitely recommend it to anyone that asks. Maybe the other brands are just as good but I always remember my parents buying GE and figured that seeing they made these all in ones first then they had more time to work the kinks out of the machine. I think I chose right!?!

LOVE this washer/dryer combo. Agree with other reviewers that it may not come out as dry as a stand-alone dryer, but I just always use the "more dry" setting and never have an issue. Love that it saves space, no vent hook up needed, and what is better than all-in-one. Getting so much more laundry done and so much relief just throwing load in and not thinking about it for awhile lol. Also great capacity considering it's one unit. I was previously not able to wash my King size comforter at home but now I can!

A Time-Saving Marvel: GE Profile 4.8 cu. ft. Ultra

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I recently invested in the GE Profile 4.8 cu. ft. UltraFast Combo Washer & Electric Dryer, and it has proven to be a game-changer in my laundry routine. This appliance combines the efficiency of a washer and the convenience of an electric dryer, making laundry day a breeze. Performance (5/5): The UltraFast technology lives up to its name, providing impressive washing and drying speeds without compromising on cleanliness. The washer's 4.8 cu. ft. capacity is more than sufficient for my family's needs, and the electric dryer efficiently tackles the laundry load with precision. Versatility (4/5): The combo design is ideal for those with limited space, combining two essential appliances into one. However, it might take a bit of time to adjust to the smaller load capacities compared to standalone units. Nevertheless, the convenience of having a single unit that handles both washing and drying outweighs this minor drawback. Ease of Use (5/5): The intuitive controls and a user-friendly interface make this combo washer and dryer a joy to operate. The variety of wash and dry cycles cater to different fabric types and soil levels, providing flexibility for all laundry needs. The inclusion of a steam-cleaning option is a nice touch, ensuring garments come out fresh and wrinkle-free. Design and Build (4/5): The sleek and modern design of the GE Profile unit adds a touch of sophistication to my laundry area. The build quality feels robust, and the door opens wide for easy loading and unloading. However, the unit can be a bit noisy during certain cycles, which may be a consideration for those with living spaces close to the laundry area. Energy Efficiency (4/5): The Energy Star certification assures me that I am making a conscious choice towards energy efficiency. The washer's ability to extract more water during the spin cycle helps reduce drying time, contributing to overall energy savings. In conclusion, the GE Profile 4.8 cu. ft. UltraFast Combo Washer & Electric Dryer has exceeded my expectations in terms of performance, ease of use, and space-saving design. While there are some minor considerations, the overall efficiency and convenience make it a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to streamline their laundry routine.

This jem is the best thing since they've invented pockets! Saves time, saves energy, saves on your gas bill, saves SPACE in your laundry room and saves on product. Love the fact that a load of clothes goes in, I can go about my day, leave and come back home and everything is done! Features, so many different items! Smart dispensers for both detergent and softener. Quiet, and clean. At first I needed some help understanding how to use this cool machine, but after I reviewed the YouTube video it made perfect sense. It is literally one and done. You will not be disappointed! Fancy and does what it says but randomly pauses Continuously. GEs response was to read the manual. Told me to clean the pump filter. I’ve had the issue since day one but even after 6 weeks of use there was barely anything in the filter. Cleaned it and same problem. GEs next response is 3rd party repairmen. No fix there either. Issue reappeared 10 minutes after they left. Return call “well order a part”. The unit comes with a smart phone app as well. No, it does not notify you that it paused the load, nor does it consistently tell you that it randomly paused the load when you check manually. I now babysit the unit downstairs with a blink camera. For $2,000 I would expect it to work for at least a matter of months before having chronic issues. There’s clearly a software or hardware problem with the unit. Now to be fair if it did not have this problem I would be a fan, but this is making more work than my old set.

We are glad to assist with your Ultrafast Combo pausing continuously. An unbalanced load or excessive lint buildup can cause the unit to do this. If the load gets unbalanced, press Pause on the control, open the door, and try to redistribute the load more evenly. If that doesn't fix it, try running the machine empty on Rinse & Spin. If the noise stops, it means the issue was caused by an unbalanced load rather than an issue with the washer itself. For more troubleshooting on this, please review the article titled “GE Profile™ UltraFast Combo Washer/Dryer - Excessive Noise or Shaking” on the GE Appliances website. You can also check out article "GE Profile™ UltraFast Combo Washer/Dryer - Advanced Cleaning of Lint Filter Compartment" for guidance with the lint filter.

We've been using the Washer/Dryer Combo for about a month now and it's met all our expectations. We wanted a unit that is easy to use without overly complicated controls, large enough to handle king size comforters, has an extra rinse cycle, doesn't take up as much room as a traditional washer/dryer pair, and does it all without having to move laundry from the washer to the dryer. We had been considering stackable units but this is a much better option for us.The ventless heat pump technology for drying actually works better than we expected. Strongly recommend this unit.

It’s really big and can handle 2 quilts with ease. Ventless system is amazing. Warranty is great to have just encase. I haven’t had anything negative beyond it being very heavy. It’s beautiful! It is so nice to toss the bedding in there in the morning and have it warm and ready to go when the cycle is done. The dog hair feature is awesome to get dog hair off before the wash cycle. And the phone notifications are a great reminder to change out the loads. It does seem to take a long time to dry. The ventless design does create a lot of extra lint in the lint holder. I find the lint filter cavity and door seal are always covered in hair and lint.

Washes well, dries great, sips just the tiniest amounts of energy and water, doesn't heat up the garage much, doesn't need a vent sends me notifications the laundry is done, dry, ready to fold. It's an awesome machine. And I have a dog. The filter assembly, and the overall machine's robustness to dog hair is a rough point though. A year in, we spend a lot of time carefully cleaning the interior & the various interior ports for water and air, vacuuming out crevices ... everything we can do to keep the lint, sand, and dog fur from clogging the filter. I would buy again, but GE's really got to re-engineer filtration because ... it's pretty common to have a dog. He sheds an ordinary amount.
