The Combo Wsher/Dryer has exceeded expectations for our use case - empty nesters. Time, water and energy savings are great. The low temperature drying seems to leave clothing softer. Dryness is fine after cycle is complete - if not, then the unit is likely in need of service.
We somehow lost our BB card. Getting help from BB finaance has been abysmal. Eleven days after reporting missing card, we are still waiting for replacement card so a payment can be made and fighting late fees. Not a good experience with financing so far.

I recently purchased the GE Appliances heat pump washer/dryer combo, and overall, I am impressed with its performance and energy efficiency. The unit efficiently combines washing and drying functionalities, making it a convenient addition to any household. However, there is one significant drawback that has impacted my overall satisfaction with the product.
The main issue lies in the lack of adjustable drying temperature. As an owner of delicate cotton and wool garments, I had hoped that the heat pump technology would deliver lower drying temperatures to prevent fabric shrinkage. Unfortunately, after conducting infrared thermometer measurements, I found that the average drying temperature hovers around 159°F, posing a risk to my delicate clothes.
Despite selecting the Delicate cycle, the drying temperature remains consistent with other cycles, rendering it unsuitable for handling delicate fabrics. This limitation defeats the purpose of having a washer/dryer combo, as manually running the drying cycle separately negates the convenience it promises.
In comparison to conventional dryers that offer temperature settings, I find it disappointing that this modern unit lacks this basic feature. Customizable drying temperatures would enhance the appliance's versatility, catering to various fabric types and individual preferences.
Despite this major drawback, the unit's efficient operation, energy-saving capabilities, and seamless integration of washing and drying processes cannot be overlooked. However, the inability to adjust the drying temperature significantly impacts its suitability for delicate clothing items.
In conclusion, the GE Appliances heat pump washer/dryer combo offers impressive performance but falls short in addressing the critical issue of adjustable drying temperatures for delicate fabrics. I urge the company to consider incorporating this essential feature through a future software update to meet the expectations of discerning customers seeking a comprehensive laundry solution.

Wow... we are experincing what the top reviews say. It works like a champ. Unless we do a very large load, dryness is great. I think it treats the clothes gently. On heavier, larger loads, we add additional dry time. Love how you put dirty clothes in and clean clothes come out. I have our machine notify us 5 min before cycle ends.
It is truly like a tank and is very heavy at 300 pounds. We love the fact that it doesnt need a vent and doesnt get burning hot like standard dryers do. We have ours installed in an upstairs closet. The directions say 0" clearance needed on sides and top of unit. I noticed the water supply lines installed did make a banging sound when water is called for and shuts off. I put pipe insulation on the supply lines and it stopped banging noises.
Also like being able to fill the detergent up to 32 loads before refilling.
We LOVE this unit.

This washer dryer combo is a dream! It is so convenient to throw clothes in and have it be dry all without transferring my clothes. I love the app and how it tells me when my load is complete and it much quieter than my previous unit. It saves space in my small laundry and I am so happy with my purchase

This machine doubled the storage space in my laundry closet. Living in a condo, this was one of the best upgrades I've made to my place. Not only is it a great space saving pption, but its quiet and energy efficient.
I love being able to throw in a load of laundry before going to bed and waking up to a dry pile of clothing waiting in the machine. I was one of those people that would forget to move the laundry over from the wash to the drier, now I no longer have the need to worry about that.
All of the parts are easy to maintain and easy to clean. The machine is connected to my phone and will send me a reminder if detergent needs to be added or if something needs to be cleaned and maintained. This is like a step into the future.

So far, so good. Love that it takes up less space and does a good job of washing and drying. The clothes might seem slightly damp when you remove after dry cycle, but that goes away quickly. You may get water hammering in your pipes (we did), as happens with a lot of newer appliances with solenoid valves. If so, you will need to install devices called "hammer arresters".

I really enjoy the ability to start a load , run a couple errands and come home just in time to hang or fold laundry. The AI automatic sensing for detergent and drying also a plus. Some people complain about how not everything is completely dry. 1. Wash like items/ materials together 2. Shake out the slightly damp and hang up. Another complaint that I read was about smell. The only time I smelled no detergent was before I figured out the automatic dispenser. Bottom line. Read the directions first. Now I love it since I watched the videos and followed the advice.

Took a bit to decide to go with this unit based on reviews but Overall i have 0 complaints from the wife. Only drawback is you have to stay on top of cleaning lint filter but that is part of not needing a vent so not an issue for us.. Even tho it takes longer to wash and dry clothes wife feels like she is doing laundry less often which is crazy but my assumption would be in order for you to do another load you are forced to fold and put away what's in the washer first before you start another one rather than forget it in dryer and now is double work.. It is heavy but for only being a 110v the performance is definitely there. Bad reviews I'd say would be from not keeping up with the lint tray and regular maintenance or just a faulty piece of equipment (it happens) but like my kid says 10 out of 10 would reccomend lol
We’re so glad to hear your Combo is working out well for your family—especially with that glowing "10 out of 10" endorsement from your kid! It's great that you’ve found the performance solid, and you’re absolutely right: regular maintenance like staying on top of the lint filter is key to keeping it running efficiently. It’s also a great point about how the all-in-one design naturally encourages staying on top of the laundry cycle—it’s a small shift that can make a big difference. Thanks again for sharing your experience and for giving the Combo a shot! -Kacie@GEAppliances

I love the large capacity and the fact that i dont have to be here to move laundry from the washer to the dryer! Just throw in a load before bed or before heading to work, and it’s clean and dry by the time i wake up or get home! The only issue i have with this is that when washing a bulky item such as bedding, it takes multiple drying cycles to get it dry.
Hello - We're thrilled to hear that you love the Combo. It really does make doing laundry so much more easier and convenient. If you notice that bulky items are taking longer to dry, please make sure your Combo has the latest available software update using the SmartHQ app. We hope this information is helpful. The GE Profile UltraFast Washer & Dryer Combo presents an innovative option for those seeking efficiency and convenience in their laundry routine. With its compact design and ventless heat pump technology, it certainly stands out as an ideal solution for small spaces or apartments where traditional units can't fit. However, while the concept is promising, there are a few aspects that potential buyers may want to consider before making a purchase.
Pros:
Space-Saving Design: One of the most significant advantages of this combo unit is its compact size. It offers the functionality of both a washer and dryer without occupying the footprint of a conventional dryer, making it perfect for tight living conditions.
Ventless Technology: The ventless feature is a game-changer for anyone who has struggled with installation limitations. Without requiring an external vent, this appliance can be placed anywhere there's a power source.
Low Power Requirements: Operating on just 120 volts or 15 amps makes this model very accessible for a wide range of homes, ensuring that it can be installed without extensive electrical modifications.
Adaptive SmartDispense Technology: This feature is particularly noteworthy as it automatically dispenses the right amount of detergent based on the load size. It simplifies the laundry process, ensuring optimal cleaning with minimal effort.
Cons:
Drying Efficiency: Unfortunately, the drying functionality of this combo leaves much to be desired. Despite the load size, it seems unlikely that clothes will emerge completely dry. This may require a second drying session or the use of an alternative drying method, which detracts from the unit's overall convenience.
Noise Level: Users should be prepared for a fair amount of noise during operation. While some level of sound is expected from any washer/dryer, this model could be disruptive in quieter homes or apartments.
Fragile Lint Collection Mechanism: The lint trap is essential for maintaining performance, yet its fragile construction could lead to issues. There are concerns about durability and the potential for it to break if not handled carefully, which could affect efficiency.
Weight: The appliance is considerably heavy, making relocation a daunting task. Once placed, it may be challenging to move it again without assistance, which is something to consider when choosing a laundry setup.
Conclusion:
Overall, the GE Profile UltraFast 4.8 Cu. Ft. High-Efficiency Smart Combo Electric Washer & Dryer is an intriguing option that balances space-saving design and innovative technology. However, it’s clear that there are several areas, particularly the drying capability and noise level, that need improvement. For those who can manage the limitations and appreciate the features it offers, it can serve as a functional addition to their home. For others, however, it might be worth waiting for subsequent versions where these issues are resolved. If you don't believe me after reading my review . . . do yourself a favor and go to the closest Best Buy Outlet near you and you'll find a large number of these appliances being sold there due to all of the consumers that have returned this washer/dryer combo for the same reasons that I have indicated above in my review.
Thank you for your detailed review of the pros & cons of the Ultrafast Combo unit and regret to hear you ended up returning your unit. We take your feedback seriously and will take your review into consideration moving forward as we are always looking for ways we can improve. We do hope that we can earn your trust back in the future.

Still amazed that one unit can both wash and dry. Definitely saves on space. The one drawback is that unlike with a separate washer and dryer, you cannot start a second load while the first is drying. Thus, laundry seems to take a bit longer, but overall we are happy with our purchase,

I recently purchased the GE Profile UltraFast Washer/Dryer Combo with Ventless Heat Pump Technology in Carbon Graphite, and I couldn't be more thrilled with my purchase! This innovative appliance has transformed my laundry routine and deserves a solid 5-star rating.
The standout feature of this washer/dryer combo is the one-door convenience. Loading laundry has never been easier, and the seamless transition from washing to drying is a game-changer. No more waiting around for one cycle to finish before starting the other – it's all done in one go!
The built-in storage for soap and detergent is an absolute game-changer. No more guessing or measuring required. The machine knows just how much detergent to use, ensuring my clothes come out fresh and clean every time.
The Ventless Heat Pump Technology is a brilliant addition, as it not only saves energy but also means I can place this combo unit in more locations without worrying about ventilation. Plus, it's environmentally friendly!
In addition to its functionality, the Carbon Graphite design is sleek and modern, fitting seamlessly into my laundry room's aesthetics.
If you're looking for a washer/dryer combo that simplifies laundry, saves energy, and makes your life easier, the GE Profile UltraFast 4.8 cu ft Large Capacity All-in-One Washer/Dryer Combo is the way to go. I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone in need of a laundry upgrade.

This thing is nice since we don't have to switch machines to dry. Takes some getting used to but now I don't even have to shake the clothes. I recommend looking up some videos on sealing around the lint filter before buying or using.

Really enjoying this machine. The only thing I am trying to get used to is the smell from what I assume is having a heat pump to dry. Right now, using a non-fragrant softener and will try different one soon. Love the ease of use and automatic detergent and softener dispenser. Also ventless is wonderful!

It's amazing. At less than the cost of a washer and a dryer, you get a modern, all in one, smart capable, ventless drying, high capacity machine.
While run times are much longer than you would normally expect, it really doesn't matter. Pop in a load before you leave for work and when you return, it's dry and ready.
Very quiet compared to our old machines. It does have a few moments in certain cycles that are a bit louder and when it's drying a low frequency hum can be heard. Not a bother for our setup, but something to be aware of. The clothes don't feel the same either. At first we thought they were still wet but no funky smell or wet film was found. Clothes smell fresh and clean, even without scent boosters or any dryer additives. Static also seems very low.

All in one works ok love the thought of this unit. But sometimes drying is a process in its own. Also had the pump go out once already. So a family of 6 kinda sucks waiting for the service call to find the issue then parts then come back to repair. Other than that great unit but a larger family might want 2 units.

First of all the only 1-star reviews worth anything are those that had actual breakdowns and had to deal with support, I don't doubt their troubles. The rest just didn't seem to know how to use the machine and didn't bother researching what they were buying.
I removed one star due the the fact we have to modify the lint filter ourselves so that lint doesn't get all over the heat pump coils but it's easy to do just look on YouTube.
It is set it and forget it. I put my laundry in, normally just do a quick run, sometimes normal or bedding. but always make sure to turn on "more dry" and "wrinkle control".A few hours later I get a notification my laundry is done. Things may feel a bit damp but it is just humid, one shake and they are dry.

Very Happy with this unit. We have run 10 loads through this machine so far. Mostly normal, 1 bulky bedding, 1 towels and the rest normal loads. For all of these loads I believe the machine performed very well. All loads have taken from about 2 hours to 2 hours 45 minutes. The only items we have had to extend drying time a little were when we had Jeans in the load. I would highly recommend this unit for anyone. Love the App and the notifications received. Also, the Smart Dispense seems to work very well and it is great not to have to measure out detergent and softener every load.

There are MANY 4-5 star reviews, and understandably so - there is lots to love about this machine. However, I rate it 3 stars and sadly chose to return it primarily because of DRYING and WRINKLING. I’ll explain why, and you can decide for yourself whether the pros outweigh the cons.
CONVENIENT - No question, there are enough great reviews about how convenient this unit is. I love having a dryer that automatically takes over after the wash cycle completes.
CONNECTIVITY - I don’t connect my appliances to WiFi and thankfully, this washer does not require WiFi unless you want to download different wash programs. The buult-in programs are plentiful.
CYCLE SPEEDS & CLEANING PERFORMANCE - I coupled these because a medium sized “Normal soil” load will take about 2 hours and 20 minutes start to finish, close to advertised. However, it’s very important to note that the Normal soil setting washes well enough only for slightly dirty clothes. After having washed dozens of loads in this machine, bedding, towels, and anything that is slightly above moderately soiled such as stains of any kind, construction work clothes, and dingy whites absolutely require the “Extra heavy” soil setting and often the pre-wash setting as well. Otherwise, the clothes and stains simply will not be cleaned well enough to your satisfaction. This is to be expected, but be aware that this dramatically increases the cycle times (+ 45-60 mins.).
DRYING - As many other reviews have stated, the dry times are VERY long. Especially for heavy items- they do not come out fully dry (Towels, Denim, Bedding, Hoodies). Though, light-weight clothing such as T-Shirts, undergarments, and workout gear dry just fine and in less time. Yes, shaking them out or laying/hanging as GE support have suggested does help to dry the remaining dampness over time, but my expectation and requirement is for the unit to dry to completion on its own. This dryer falls short for the items listed above.
WRINKLING - This is by far the oddest and most dissapointing thing about this unit. With a traditional vented tumble dryer, if you remove your clothes right away, they won’t be wrinkled and you can avoid ironing most articles. However, with this unit, clothes AWLAYS come out very wrinkled no matter how quickly you remove them. The Wrinkle Care option makes no difference. Perhaps a side effect to the ventless heat pump? I don’t know why it is, but expect to iron more often with this unit.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your detailed feedback with us. For drying performance, we do recommend that you ensure that the pump filter is cleaned, that you're not overloading the unit, the drain isn't clogged, and that your software is up to date. Please use article "GE Profile™ UltraFast Combo Washer/Dryer - Finding the Software Version ID" on our GE Appliances website for assistance with this. Software updates may help with wrinkling issues too! Should the issue persist, please schedule service by calling our GE Appliances Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737 so we can assist you in the best way possible.

Works amazing, the only downsize is that you have to do maintenance often to ensure the machine runs properly. I would also suggest getting the brush cleaning set from the company directly. But other than that washes and drys my clothes really well. If you have a large load you might need to add a little more drying time, which I don’t mind because I love when my clothing is hot when it comes out the dryer. I also love the fact that I don’t have to move my clothes from the washer to the dryer, very convenient.
