It’s definitely not cheap but I love nugget ice and it’s a necessary item to maintain the cleanliness of the device

Didn’t work

Posted .Hello - Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Please be sure to follow the Filter Installation Instructions listed below to ensure the water filter is being installed properly:
1.Remove the included screen from the ice machine. Make sure the filter is positioned with the "Fins" up.
2. Using two right-hand fingers to hold the Fins, slide the nozzle end of the filter into the hole located at the back, left-hand side of the lower reservoir.
3. Slide the base of the filter, where your fingers are located, so that it fits against the tab located towards the middle of the backside. Push down into the place to ensure the filter is properly assembled into the ice maker.
To remove the water filter, twist the filter toward you and lift. We hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you need additional assistance. Warm regards. -Don@GEAppliances

Doesn't work if you have the side tank installed

I contacted GE support who advised i likely had a defective filter. I tried a second one same results. Works fine without the side tank attached but seems to restrict water flow causing the machine to run dry.
