Do I have to use a filter on the opal mini as I pour my filtered Brita water into it.

It’s important to note that distilled water is different from bottled water, reverse osmosis water, filtered water, or spring water. All of these other options contain varying levels of minerals that can build up in the unit and impede optimal operation. Using distilled water reduces the frequency of descaling and cleaning.
Does the water from the side tank of the Opal 2 go into the main tank of the unit and then get filtered through this water filter? If not, is there a filter that works in the side tank?
