I'm a fan of the series and this is one of the best entries. The story is good and the graphics and sound are excellent. The graphics on the Xbox one x are amazing.

I got this for my brother and husband to play together. It's a nice 2-player game and they like it more than Halo 4. Nice graphics and interesting story line.

I've been a Gears of War for about 8 years now, and this installment does a pretty good job of bringing the franchise back from the dead. Pros: Horde mode is great, I really enjoy the new skill-card system and specific unlocks for each class. Versus has fun game-play you have probably grown to love they didn't try to make it "new and improved," and try to change things just to change them . The graphics are crisp and clean on Xbox 1. The frame-rate seems to be a rock-solid 60 FPS with very satisfying textures. Cons: If you haven't played gears before the controls are a bit clunky compared to other games, but it does seem like they have made slight improvements in the current gen. ONLY 2 PLAYER CAMPAIGN COOP. I really dislike having to choose which singular friend i'm going to play coop with. Horde mode has up to 5, but I would have really liked to see 4 person coop similar to halo.

The Campaign is awesome. Graphics are out of this world. Just beware of the multiplayer as this franchise has been out for a long time. Some have mastered the movement system so it's a big learning curve. If you put the time in you'll get a hang of it. I recommend this as a solid purchase. It's definitely worth the money. Also, Horde! Endless amounts of fun with friends.

I buy video games for the Single Player Content. Gears of War 4 Single Player Campaign was not very long in my opinion for the money spent for the game. The Single Player Campaign was way too short and it ended too soon. The campaign ending really left you hanging with no real ending. My guess is either an expansion pack or DLC is coming for the game in the future to finish the Single Player Campaign. I think the game developer should maybe in the future add more free Single Player Campaign Chapters for the game like they did for the remastered Gears of War. Don't get me wrong. The graphics, AI, and the story were are great. I really enjoyed playing the game. I just thought the Single Player Campaign was too short.

Tremendous campaign that looks amazing, plays great, and has a good story. Horde mode is a great wave based game that enables you to set up defenses anywhere on the map and the enemies spawn accordingly. If you are a fan of previous Gears games this is more of the same but more refined. The camera wobbles less when running to cover too!

I just beat GOW4 on PC. The graphics so great especially on ultra with 1440p res. I must say this is one of the best and most polished PC games in 2016 with so many graphical options available from the get go and it maintains about 80 - 100 fps with my GTX 1080. Story wise, GOW3 is better...and with better and longer ending cinematic scene as well. I don't like the ending of GOW4. It is really short like they didn't put any effort at all. But gameplay wise, it is great just like GOW1 - 3.

If you love gears...this is the game for you. Story is interesting and jammed packed with action. Their is alot of new enemies and weapons in this gears game as well. Make sure you and your friends play co op campaign!!! Online multiplayer is where a gears game shines the most. 60fps does this title its due justice.

I didn't know what to expect when Epic handed off the game to The Coalition, but I have been pleasantly surprised for the most part. Understand that I primarily play Gears for the campaign, as it is my wife's favorite game and something we can play together on the couch. Luckily, split-screen co-op returns. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll tread lightly. This is the story of Marcus Phoenix's son, and it feels incredibly familiar, but not in a bad way. Some old characters show up throughout the game, some new characters wind up being important in ways you might not have imagined, and the game itself plays just as you would expect. The campaign probably took me 10 hours to play through (though I did hunt for collectibles throughout) on normal (I'm playing through solo on insane now, and it is ... hard). Without spoiling anything, there isn't much to say about the campaign except that it feels like Gears, and it is an improvement upon Judgment. I'd still rank it behind the original trilogy, but it was fun. You should know that Horde mode is online only, so I've only checked it out during free play weekends (no, I don't use live since I am a solitary gamer for the most part). There are some changes, but overall, it seems like a slight inferior version of Gears 3 Horde. Versus brings back the COG/Horde battles from the first 3 games (even if it isn't really the COG or the Horde). Writing this review, I guess I find it hard to explain other than saying this game seems like an updated Gears game. It's just what you'd expect. Anyways, I hope this helps!

It's Gears of War, chances are you know what you're getting into by buying this. Great cover based shooter mechanics, fun online play with a good variety of game types for everyone. My only complaint is the campaign. There are points where your teammates are useless making the boss battles basically 1 on 1 & the story is lackluster this time around. You spend hours upon hours fighting and exploring places, but very little happens to advance the story. The reveal towards the end is pretty cool, it just takes too long to get there. It sets up for a trilogy, which should be fun.

One of the best story modes in the franchise. Not only do the graphics look great in the story mode, but online as well. Gears always delivers intense quality online multiplayer. The new power weapons are great addition and if you're not that, then Horde mode will keep you busy for hours.

The latest installment of gears is just what the doctor ordered. It feels deeper than just a rehash. New weapons. New enemies. Great story line. The game style breaks up the monotony of some current games. Plus, it was on sale for $29!
