Very subpar game. Microsoft tried and failed in bringing this game up to the level of Epic Games' work. Missions are incredibly repetitive, and you will keep fighting the same few monster types over and over throughout the game. Even the "boss" fights are the same repetitive battles. The only thing that makes any of the battles challenging is the horrible controls. There is hardly any story to speak of, and the "end" of the game is just a dead stop in the middle of the story. The game can not stand on its own should GoW5 never be created. I was incredibly disappointed and had this game on eBay before the credits finished rolling.

For those who have played the other gears of War or if you've never played it before. You will enjoy the responsiveness and battles this game has to offer. I was disappointed in how quickly I made it through the campaign.

This was the first GoW game I've ever played and every time i start to get into the campaign I just get bored due to its repetitive gameplay. Just my opinion, but i'm sure other people will really like this game.

Good game overall. Characters are vague and uninteresting. Corny dialogue and the game is too cartoony compared to the previous installments. Hate that you can't play horde mode without an internet connection.

I hope the game gets a little more engaging. The story and pacing needs to be revamped. Almost seemed like the AI wasn't as smart as past games. But like I said decent enough laughing point.

I was not impressed with this game in the graphics department or even combat. It's more of the SAME and for some people that's ok but I needed more innovation or variety to keep me going.

I had fun playing this game in short spurts. The story didn't pull me in and the AI was too predictable. The lazy level design and linearity makes this more of a rental.

I bought this as the salesperson stated that it supported xbox play anywhere. This was not true and the main reason I bought it was for that particular reason.

It felt like just another gears game which isnt exactly bad but not all that great either. It didnt feel that fresh but I still enjoyed my time with it.

It's an Ok game, you get the non-remastered versions of the old games but it's not great either way. Buy it if it's cheap, otherwise - skip.

Had such high expectations for this game. Great graphics, but the gameplay is the same as it was back in 2006.

I was disappointed that I completed the game in less than 8 hours. Glad we got it on sale because of the short time it took to beat the game

This game is lackluster at best did not live up to its hype. The story arc was unimpressive and felt like it was trying to pull a Halo 5 on me.

I really enjoyed Gears of War on the 360, but the last 2 installments, Judgement and 4 have been very meh-ish in comparison to the trilogy

This series is starting to age badly. Perhaps I am too old to play games anymore. The story is beyond ridiculous.

The game play on it it's okay, but I'm more used to of fluid character who seems to move with the punches instead of sidestepping etcetera.

I never play the game but my kids love it so I purchased it for them. it's war game, who likes war? not me for sure.

There are better shooters out there for the Xbox one like Battlefield and Titanfall. Also no 4 player co-op campaign. That's a shame!

i always thought the 1st one was the best gears there was. this one is a bit better then the others i can say

Defiantly not worth full price. Not a bad game. It looks and feels like all the other games in the series.
