Great game if you are a gears of war fan of the series!

I pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition of Gears of War 4 and have found this to be a good investment, especially since I'm a Gamers Club Unlocked member and didn't have to pay the full $99.99 for this game.

So much better then the rest of the gears of war games

I LOVED Gears of War and Gears of War 2 as I found the combat between two players using a Gnasher Shotgun to be one of the most innovative and enjoyable experiences in gaming. The smaller sized teams allowed for groups of friends to team up and control the fate of their team each and every game, something difficult to do with larger teams in other mainstream shooters. However, the addition of the Sawed Off Shotgun in Gears of War 3 left a huge stain on a game that could have been great without it. Beginning with the introduction of the sawed off in Gears of War 3 coupled with a neutering of the Gnasher, the franchise began a downward spiral. Gears of War Judgement was the worst shooter I have ever played, though I haven't played many outside of Call of Duty, Tom Clancy games, Gears of War, Halo and Titanfall. Judgement continued the trend of meddling with weapons that I felt were handled very well in Gears of War and Gears of War 2. The Retro Lancer was a massive failure in my opinion and the Gnasher once again bordered on un-usable. After playing the Gears of War 4 Beta I was so optimistic about this game that I decided to purchase the Ultimate Edition physical copy as well as the Ultimate Edition Xbox One S, after selling my white 2TB Xbox One S after only 2 months. I enjoyed the beta so much that I was certain Gears of War 4 would be my favorite shooter ever. Then I played the game... First, many of the maps are unsuitable for Team Deathmatch, one of the most widely played game modes. Second, tests conducted by avid players of the game have concluded that the Gnasher shoots blanks on occasion making for frustration playing that is unmatched by anything I have experienced playing a shooter. Third, the lancer and hammerburst are obscenely powerful when shot following an active reload, reloads that are now allowed to be taken even with a full round of ammo in your weapon. Also, the effectiveness of these weapons has made the 1v1 Gnasher battles an extinct practice as you will often find yourself downed by someone outside of the 1v1. Lastly, the campaign is widely regarded as very underwhelming and the online servers often do not even put 5 players on each team to start a match. I was a huge fan of the franchise from the start, and despite its flaws still enjoyed Gears of War 3, but between Judgement and Gears of War 4 this franchise has now produced two of the worst shooters I have ever played. The reason for this is a departure from what made this game great for me which was gnasher vs gnasher combat. A game now over saturated with poorly conceptualized, overpowered weapons, and a gnasher that fires blanks, Gears of War 4 leaves me deeply regretting my purchase and believing this franchise to be completely dead.

this is another great game in the Gears of war series

This game is the best of the saga, even if you havent played the previous games you will enjoy this one. The collector edition has a really nice steel case and all the future DLC. Good deal! buy it!

Same old plot but the game play is still pretty fun.

I'm a huge GoW fan. I loved the other ones. This one did not miss a beat. The only thing I was slightly disappointed on was they took away the 4 player co-op. Other than that exceptional!

This is a great game for the people who are into these kind of games. It is a mature rated game so keep that in mind when buying it. So if that is what you like you will love this one.

If you enjoy the previous gears games you will enjoy this one as well. A new story about people built like they have football pads on who are unusually resistant to bullets.

Console is nice. Comes with 2tb and the red controller. No head set or mic though. Just because of the design and the edition but it'seems better to buy an external memory

this game was created in all perfection. the fact that they added the first 4 games was perfect. it gives you the ability to play the entire series from top to bottom.

Gears 4 goes back to the same fundamentals as gears 3. With the addition of a few setting from previous gears of war games. Like the ability to only plant 1 grenade
