Customers are saying

Customers value the fun gameplay and engaging story mode in Gears of War: Judgment. However, some feel the campaign is too short and the initial map selection is limited, impacting the overall value. The addition of new weapons is appreciated by some, while others find the price point too high for the amount of content provided. Concerns were also raised regarding the lack of content, particularly online.

What's here is great; but there isn't enough of it

I really like what's here. The story-telling and optional in-game challenges keep things fresh. The new survival mode isn't a replacement for the missing horde mode, but it's fun, new, and offers great cooperative gameplay options. The whole package feels lacking in content, though. This bad taste is furthered by non-stop prompts to buy the content that's so sorely missing. It's a fun experience, marred only by the feeling that you'll need to spend FAR more than what's reasonable to enjoy all the content created. I enjoy it, but the whole thing just feels dirty.

One of my favorite GOW so far

Compared to Gears of War 2, I believe that Judgment is way better in both the story mode and the multiplayer. The multiplayer does have COD like features like classes and game modes but it does add features like playing as a class of locust versus playing as classes of the COG. From my prospective, GOW Judgment multiplayer is easier to play than GOW 2. I keep on referencing GOW 2 because that is the only other GOW game that I have played because I was dissatisfied with it. In mulitplayer it seems like the guns do more damage because it is easier to kill enemies instead of unleashing a fury of bullets into a guy like in COD and getting 15 hit markers without a kill.

    Decent game, worst Gears yet

I've played all the previous Gears of War games and enjoyed them all completely. I was hyped for this but it was a let down. It is a great game by itself but if you compare to it the other Gears games, it falls short. With Judgment, something just feels stale. The single player campaign is short, and the story itself is lackluster. All you basically do is pick up a different gun and kill enemies in different ways in order to earn stars and other things based on different conditions. I liked the Declassified missions in theory but how the developers implemented it took away from the story and made it feel clunky but I still had fun during the short play through. The multiplayer is fun to a certain extent, and it was actually better than the main campaign, which disappoints me because I consider multiplayer to be an added bonus not something to outshine the single player experience. They changed some elements which made Gears unique but now you can only carry two guns, no longer use the D-pad to switch guns, etc. However, they did do something right with the Overrun mode. I am currently addicted to playing that solely. If you like a shooter with an under average storyline and a main goal to pick up different guns and kill, kill, kill, this is the game for you. If you're looking for more, maybe wait 'till the price drops. All in all, it is a decent game, but definitely not worth brand new game price. I really hope this doesn't mean that Gears of War will become like many other games that keep getting released just to have a game and have very little value added to them. It will be very disappointing to know another series has done that.
