Played the original on both Xbox 360, as well as PC. I can tell you there is much improvement here. The game runs very fluidly at 1080p at 60hz on my 4K display. Game looks almost brand new and includes all DLC made for the game. Also, if you log on and play online you will be entered to receive all the other GOW titles for the Xbox One as soon as they are released. Great value, and definitely worth replaying even if you played the original.

The single player is showing its age, but the multiplayer is still plenty of fun and the graphical improvements are enough to make this worth the $40.

This is a amazing remastered game. I went back to play the original when backwards compatibility came out and the graphic comparison is no where near each other. This blows the original out of the water. Have brought back some amazing memories from when I played this 10 years ago in college with my buddies. We're all playing it again together now.

they did a great job remaking the original gears of war and a even more beautiful job updating it.

The shooter has been remastered in 1080P and modernized for Xbox One, and is augmented with new content including five campaign chapters never released on Xbox. Whether the campaign or multiplayer, Gears of War undoubtedly succeeds in constantly entertaining. The Ultimate Edition takes that to a new level through optimized gameplay, smoother controls, and updated visuals. Most importantly, it makes this classic relevant again.

the graphics are sick, this game was great when it came out years ago and now its so much better.

The game was great in 2006. It's even better now with the upgraded graphics, sound and cutscenes.

If you are a fan of Gears you will like this game! The multiplayer is like having gears 1, 2 and 3 all in 1 game. And it is cheap! just 40$

I remember the original Gears of War as being somewhat of a turning point for cover based third person shooters. Everything about it felt more epic than anything I'd seen before. This remake shows that even after all of these years, the game is still one of the best at what it does. The faults of the original are still present, but I would rather err on the side of being to perfect a reproduction than risk getting something that is supposed to be the same, yet feels completely unfamiliar. Recommended to any fan or newcomer.

Got a great deal on this game during the Black Friday deals. Fun to play and a must have!

Single Player: if you have played GoW on Xbox back in the day, you may want to pass if you want this for single player only. The remaster is decent but there really isn't too much to be all ecstatic about. For nostalgic reason, I loved the SP, but not worth the price tag (wait for cheaper) Multiplayer: This is where it shines. Most people bought this for the multiplayer since it is not 60 fps and you can definitely see it. Even though the hit detection is still wonky, but not as bad as on the OG xbox, it is still great.

I was so excited when this was announced and having played it, The Coalition did an excellent job with it. It looks like something that would be put out in 2015 and they remastered it from the ground up. What makes it even better is that by playing the game online before the end of the year, I get free copies of the other Gears games to download when backwards compatibility launches on the Xbox One in November

I loved the original, and I love the remake. Great getting back into the addicting multiplayer, especially with the improved graphics.
