Great remastered game, the graphics and game play are significantly enhanced

This is an excellent remaster, looks prettier-than-ever, and great action. If you've never played, you should give it a shot if you like third person shooters that make you think and not just go in guns blazing. If you have played it before, you know what you are in for. There are extra levels from the PC version (nothing special), and all of the online maps and matches. Really good value, but if you don't like third person, or have already played it out, you may want to stay away.

This is a well priced remaster to one of the best games of last generation.

If you are unaware of Gears of War's influence into third-person shooters, this game is the start of all cover-based shooters. It mixed all the right elements of online multiplayer, fast-action, and good storyline. The cover-base system was the first of its kind which has been mimicked by many other games since. If you haven't played the originals, definitely pick up this copy.

This remaster is an absolute reason to buy the console. It brings gears back in 1080p with 60 fps in multiplayer. The only issue was the inconsistent shotgun which was patched as of 9/23/2015. Also, if you play GOW UE before the end of december you get all of the previous gears games available for download with the newly added backwards compatibility. Easiest buy in history

Loved the online multiplayer having dedicated servers and redone textures.

The graphics were beautiful and the game play 10/10 just like I remember from when I used to play the original game.

I have been a GoW fan from the beginning and this update has allowed me to start all over again from the beginning. The clarity that has been incorporated into the UE is fantastic. When playing the original, I was always having to adjust my screen's settings before and after. Now, I can see everything clearly and have even seen new details that I didn't catch before.

Some things in life are just what you want them to be. For me, Gears is ultra-testosterone, full throttle, guns blazing shear enjoyment. I really wasn't concerned that there was a possibility that the game was just going to be the same, exact game just updated for Xbox ONE. I just wanted to be able to play Gears on ONE. But then you put in the game...the re-made cut scenes grab you and hold you with the vivid colors, facial movements (you can see the non-verbal dialogue/emotions in the characters faces!) and new action sequences. I told a buddy, it's the same but it's COMPLETELY different! SPOILER ALERT!!! Remade cut scene when Marcus gets off the helicopter and walks up to Hoffman for the first time since Dom gets him out of jail...Your watching Anya smile back at Marcus and it is violently interrupted by blood splatter all over the side of her face as a Grub snipes the head off a Grunt standing next to her. If you are a gamer, THIS IS A MUST HAVE GAME! This IS NOT your old Gears game. Buy it and enjoy it for what it is. What it isn"t? It isn't a "fix everything that was wrong with the original game" especially when it comes to the Multiplayer. So don't even expect that. Buy it so you can be the baddest MF on the planet saving everyone and everything from the legions of locust around every corner.

Awesome remake of a classic, works well, great added levels of campaign

If you liked the original Gears of War, you'll love the remake. The game looks amazing and runs very smoothly. It won't take long for you to get back into this franchise, ducking in cover, actively reloading your lancer and chainsawing grubs. The additional content in chapter 5 is a fresh addition for those, like me, who never played the PC version. Great game.

Great game love what they did great cinematics and online multiplayer

Gears of War was one of the games that established the Xbox 360 as the premier system of the last console generation. This HD remake is a great way to replay the classic for longtime fans or a great introduction for those new to the series. Also, if you play it between now and December, you will get backwards compatible copies of Gears 1-3 and Judgment for free.

In 2006 Marcus Fenix and his alpha squad have been battling the Locust. Now in this reboot of the game that released on Xbox 360 Gears of War is back this time with updated graphics and new levels. The controls and weapons are the same as they were back in 2006. The cutscenes have been retouched with updated character models and added details and backgrounds.

I am generally cautious about remastered games--they often change the original so much that it ruins the whole experience. But I found this game to be a perfect blend of old and new. The cut-scenes and graphics are amazing, but I found that this game maintained the original's feel (for lack of a better term) and story line. Overall, I highly recommend it.

Played through the campaign again after 8 years, still holds up. Very fun and addictive multiplayer as well.

Maybe my memory isn't what it used to be or maybe updating the game with HD graphics really made that much difference, but this felt like a new game and I really didn't remember a lot of the story line as I played through it for the first time since the original version came out. I remember liking it then and nothing changed about that this time around. Good story and characters in this single-player (co-op available) game which is sadly lacking in many games these days as all the publishers abandon story modes and single player options for the massive online multiplayer deathmatches where creativity is unneeded. Looking forward to Gears of War 4 coming out this year too. I put my gameplay of THIS game on the old tube of you, name there is Harbinger50. Check it out.
